@davidgerard@circumstances.run We did an escape room last weekend with a hacking puzzle, with the hint "it's not as hard as it looks, just do what they do in the films". I grabbed the keyboard and akjnefklnjsfla leajnflkjsn lkcnjflas jnlkj najf nlsan as fast as possible, which delightfully was what it wanted. :-)

@Steffi@toot.wales I've got a Carradice one. I'm glad I have it, but it's only really good when it's cold and wet (if it's warm and wet then keeping the wind off you means you get warm and sweaty under the cape), and it's a nuisance in the wind, and you get wet from the knees down... ... but when it is cold and wet, there's something about being cosy in your own little tent which is much more pleasant than ordinary waterproofs, I think something to do with it being away from your body more. Sorry this is not very coherent.

@davidgerard So, the crypto bit is like Play To Earn only without even the excessively optimistic idea that you can become rich as a gold farmer in a game where everyone else playing also wants to be a gold farmer? Isn't there meant to be at least a superficially plausible account of where the money comes from?

@quixoticgeek@social.v.st TBF I mostly ride fixed these days - obvs, completely silent - and in an urban environment I can see there's something to be said for a bike that makes a bit of noise, if not a full on BRRRRR. The Brompton used to have brakes that went SQUEAL which was excellent, saying at once "I am here", "I am a bicycle", and "I am slowing down".

@txt_file @TechConnectify It doesn't double the power but quadruples it, as explained 10 minutes into the video. The resistance is unchanged, twice the voltage means twice the current for a given resistance, power is voltage times current.
