This, apparently, helps screen readers not jumble up the words within the hashtagged text. Sometimes it's something we don't think about that helps others accessibility needs.

I just got a raise, am an asset to the business, due to my skillset, interact with a Windows computer due to an Excel document that is used for inventory purposes, and get to choose as to whether or not I want to help the business with the skills I have. This never happened working in the IT industry. It's just a bunch of cheap contractors, that can be replaced at any time. Fuck this industry!

I've been vocal about it whenever I see it. Probably make people around me thing I'm crazy. I've even been asked to tone it down when around certain people. I just bailed from Debian into the Arch ecosystem just due to Debian's decision to allow slop code. I block anything I deem slop on youtube or block domains that are actively using it in an article. You can block sites from Search results with DuckDuckGo. I have no business using it.

Follow one you might like, such as #BatsInBlankets or #OwlsInTowels to name a couple. Then branch off from there in order to view others who use that hashtag. Connect. Start viewing the world from their view, and interact if you want. No one's forcing you to join. I chime in from time to time, but still like to lurk in the shadows.

I was tasked to train a new hire at the site I work at. As you'd expect, the topic of video games came up. So I introduced him to #GOG. He was blown away by the fact that you buy the game, download the installation file of the game you can keep, and that you can share the file with others. So, I'm doing the only logical thing. I'm going to share some of the games I own with him. I have, potentially, changed his mind when it comes to digital ownership. Today was a good day.

I was a Windows guy for the longest time. Shit, I even went to college in order to work within that corporate industry. It took me years to get comfortable using Linux. And now people are asking me for help in order to get off the M$ train? There's something wrong there. I've helped save a few working machines from the M$ hellscape.
