So, I just found out: 15 hours and 32 minutes. That's an increase of 10 full hours since I last built Chromium in 2022!

Just noticed how my uBlock Origin add-on in LibreWolf has blocked over 2.5 million ads since install. Impressive and thankful for the uBlock devs to make the internet usable again ❤️
I didn’t build Chromium for a few years now and I remember why. I’ve been compiling the latest build for 12 hours now and it still isn’t done.
I mean, sure, it’s on a #Gentoo box with a fourth generation Intel Core i7 from 2013, but still! Even LibreOffice builds in under two hours on it.

Gentoo's flexibility, being able to use USE flags to compile the *exact* stuff *you* want, is its main selling point for me.

So, I got three people voting for the classic definition. Four went for the stalinist/trotskyist version, leaving more than half to go with some version of capitalism.
It’s a small sample, but in my experience indicative of the immense confusion on the left.

Jammer dat de NRC de behoefte had om extreemrechts af te zetten tegen "(extreem-)links". Geen idee wat er extreem (lees: gewelddadig) was aan de pro-AZC demonstratie. Dat was het niet.
Verder bijna opmerkelijk dat ze er überhaupt aandacht aan besteden. Ben ik niet van ze gewend. Bij de meeste gebeurtenissen waar links eens in het nieuws zou kunnen komen, hoor ik vrijwel niks in de media. Zoals op 1 mei, waar 18.000 mensen aanwezig waren bij de nationale viering in Amsterdam.
