"Songs the Warner Brothers Taught Me" by Megan Lynch is still one of my favorite albums.
If you liked Leon Redbone's "On the Track" you'll enjoy this.

Bicycles are transportation. Enjoy stories in many formats. Comic books and animation (2d, 3d, & stop motion) are favorite mediums. Former academic library staff. Enjoy most organizations that sees value in objects and works. Accession is an important step before curating and archiving.

Understood.
I got stung by a Portugese man o'war inn the Gulf of Mexico decades ago. Much worse than a Jellyfish. I realized just last week that that was one of the reasons I don't care for the ocean much. Others being that I burn easily and don't like sand. Getting into everything.

Someone mentioned banana peel bacon and I thought they were just messing with me.
They were not.
Out of curiosity I tried my own variation of this:
https://eathealthy365.com/your-step-by-step-recipe-for-crispy-banana-peel-bacon/
With the ingredients I had. Maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, and tamarind powder. Stirred together and marinated the peels in it for 20 minutes. Cooked for 4.
Not bad. Not great, just ok.
I'm sure a good chef could make it amazing.
More like banana peel jerky than "bacon"

Checked out an electric bicycle. Couldn't tell much difference. In fact, it seemed much worse, too heavy and handling badly. I was about 10 feet from the bike share station to return it when I noticed there was a power button I hadn't turned on. 🤷

I have been "voluntold" by my spouse that I'm running a kid's bicycle rodeo in August.
I have helped with 2 bicycle rodeos run by 3 other LAB LCIs, but never ran one.
I've been told they've had them before so have the supplies and proper forms and waivers.
I've looked up and saved what I could learn from my bike education materials & the web.
Does anyone have any advice or personal experience to make it more fun? I am not competitive at all, and I understand kids usually are.

A5. My Spouse's bicycle. She's been so busy with work and travel that she hasn't had time to use it. She likes to bicycle *after* she's started, but getting her to start is an issue. I'm thinking about getting her a new bike to psychologically break through some of her subconscious resistance to starting and give her current bike to our niece.

Spouse explained why I liked visiting Milwaukee, Wisconsin so much more than visiting Madison, Wisconsin.
Madison had money that sprawled things out. The elite and upper class, the Capitol.
Milwaukee had money that concentrated things. Working class, rough and tumble.

A4. No, too much hassle to keep an eye on and hold a sign (though I've used a "sandwich board" for the paste few I've gone too.
Also, since it's my main transportation, I don't want authoritarian fascists to steal it. Those types hate people having bicycles

Roads are designed to go from point to point fast with few stops at higher speeds. Streets are designed for multiple stops at slower speeds with multiple intersections and driveways.
A "stroad" is a street and road combination that makes travel dangerous. High speeds combined with multiple intersections. Most crashes in North America happen on stroads.
"MUP" means Multi Use Path. Very limited motorized access (ebikes, etc.)

We sometimes have the same questions on #BikeNite . But no one complains because we all learn something from the different answers different people have at different times. Sometimes an answer will generate discussions on a related topic and lead to another question and more answers.

While I understand this better as an adult, my inner kid is still angry about it. I often had no idea how I got the right answer. It was *never* cheating as I was often accused of. My mind often does not work in a linear fashion.

First bicycle that introduced me to index shifting.
With slick tires instead of knobbies, it, made an excellent commuter.
Also first bicycle I had stolen. From in front of a bicycle shop. When I went in quickly to get a tube, it was gone withing 4 minutes. Learned to start using bike locks after that.

#Comics #Cartoon and others like that might be good ones to add to some of your posts if you link to ir share those.

Horrible movie, but just right for commenting on how bad it is in places.
This morning I folded my niece's striped shirt from the laundry.
Which made me think about the striped shirts in the movie "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and the fun Disney world ride I took in the 1970s.
Now this movie has stripes everywhere.
And I just saw a reference to John Candy in the movie "Stripes".
Is a time traveler trying to tell me something today?
