Small rant: Why is it that, in the year 2026, the only thing a vehicle can say to pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles is some variant of "HONK!"?
I was biking through a busy area yesterday, got honked at by a bus one lane over, and when I looked at the driver, it looked like he was saying something, and there were a whole lot of arm motions, none of which made sense to me. I eventually interpreted it as "Go," so I went, and everything was fine.

I like this local bike shop that used to be a 3-minute walk from my apartment, but since I’ve moved, it’s a 3-mile bike ride. It’s also the size of a postage stamp, so they don’t have much in-stock. I recently learned that I can ask them to order stuff for me. (This seems obvious in retrospect.) I imagine it would make sense if I want them to install an accessory for me and/or if I’m worried about selecting something that will be compatible with my bike.
