@jdarais@sfba.social asks: My shifter cable recently frayed and snapped inside the shifter (for the second time), and when I got it fixed, the mechanic said that the design of the shifter is such that this will happen every couple of years under heavy use. I thought maybe I need new shifters, then, but he told me this is basically the case with all drop-bar integrated shifters?? Q3. Anyone else observed this? I just saw a mom ride by with a young child on the back of their bike. She was trying to converse with them in Spanish, “Cómo te llamas?” “what is your name?” And the kid just squealed in response “ooooooeeeeeeeee!!” like they were having too much fun on the back of the cargo bike.

I trimmed a few vines that were driving me crazy to unwind and am having a snack. A1b. I don't specifically check for pressure unless I know that there will be time constraints for when I will be using a bike next. (Leaving early the next morning, for example) Otherwise, I just pump tires when I notice that they're a little low on air. Hopefully I notice while walking the bike around, before I start riding. #BikeNite

I've been told they've had them before so have the supplies and proper forms and waivers. I've looked up and saved what I could learn from my bike education materials & the web. Q7. I've seen chainrings welded for window/door decorations, and I think Tomcat Bikes in Portland had made something out of old rims. But those aren't quite yard decorations. A friend who lives nearby has a couple of rims hanging from their window planter holders. One day I want to make a yard sculpture out of a wheel, and have it light up when it spins.
