@mcc@mastodon.social AFAIK, PCRE1 has been basically frozen for over a decade only fixing occassional bugs, while PCRE2 is where new features are being developed.

@jonny@neuromatch.social I've got a client that uses Microsoft Business Central, and about once a month I have to clean out somebody's cookies, otherwise trying to log in will result in an internal server error (and not even a branded one - just a generic text-only page).

I wanted to take a screenshot in a VM today, and Windows presented me with this extremely awfully translated dialog – translated back to English (while staying as faithful to the wording used in Slovenian translation as possible), the text says: Should Sniping tool, to at recording screenshots or recording screen turn off border of screen shot? If you wish to change this later, open Settings app. [ Yes ] [ No ]

@tml@mementomori.social AFAIK, you can't rely on the app too much, because emarker chips in some cables outright lie (though among these cables only the 100W one could be suspect, as all the others are at the lower bound of capabilities).

@atomicpoet@atomicpoet.org @bcasiello@floss.social @alice@lgbtqia.space Problem with HP is that buying their consumer stuff is a lottery – you may get a jackpot and a computer that'll work forever, but you're more likely to get utter trash that'll self-destruct the day after warranty expires. Their business lines are solid in my experience, and there's also a huge difference between consumer and business service if anything does go wrong.

@manawyrm@chaos.social The first computer we had at home was a 286 in '89, and the first one I bought myself was Celeron 450 in '99, but if pictures of those exist, they're somewhere in albums (well, technically the computer in the picture and the one I still use today can be traced all the way back to the one I bought in '99, because I just keep upgrading that piece-by-piece).

@manawyrm@chaos.social This is probably the oldest picture of my computer, from January 2004 (I never cared enough to take pictures of my desktop before that). I think this is an Athlon XP 2500+, with either 1 or 2 GB RAM, no idea which graphic card (probably GeForce 2MX), Pioneer DVD-ROM, Teac CD-RW, Teac DVD-RW optical drives, 8+40+40GB hard drives (Quantum, IBM, Maxtor), Hansol H530 15″ 1024x768 LCD monitor, Umax Astra 2100 USB scanner (with Via Eden 5000 mini-ITX board resting on it), and yes, the whole computer was built-into the drawers of my desk.

@Anneheathen@glammr.us You'll likely need DAVx⁵ to sync other calendars on Android, as there's no built-in CalDAV (and CardDAV) support. It costs a bit in Play Store, or you can get the free version through F-Droid.
