Owl Eyes Hoo

@catsalad@infosec.exchange this is the best cat, Sade

#3goodthings 1) Mantis made my day being Autistic. (saw "Guardians of the Galaxy" part 2) 2) Had a great weekend at the lake 3) Had some hot tub soaks (is extremely rare when owls indulge in this)

@leadore@sunny.garden @Catwoman69y2k@meow.social Yes, I intended to cover that case with "nonexistent"

Which software ecosystems have you been brave and courageous enough to abandon completely? PART 2!! (There were calls for other ecosystems). Please Check all that apply.

Please boost for even more #Science :blob_cat_giggle:

(gmail is currently the "main boss", is the hardest to get rid of...)

@jbrownesq@mastodon.social I have 2 #OpenWRT routers myself 👍

Maybe it's just me, but it's strange how any sentence that starts with "Excited" is something I'm 100% uninterested in. Like a sentence starting with that word almost certainly should be ignored, unless some crucial boss said it. Dear @autistics@fedigroups.social , when some sentence starts with "Excited", do you pretty much roll your eyes immediately, because it'll be a humble brag for sure?

@meganL@mas.to then don't read the book. I'm not Pinker's personal friend

@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems Great book trying to focus on such positive things, worth a read for anyone who is feeling down: "Enlightenment Now", by Steven Pinker

The "main boss" of this poll is github! So #gmail and #github are the 2 toughest accounts to ever close. Interesting.

@andrewnez@mastodon.social she never got to state what it was she'd love to see. Epic patience!

@puppygirlhornypost2@transfem.social @AAKL@infosec.exchange If only we could flush Active Directory and Entra down the toilet along with it. It's too large to fit.

@womble@infosec.exchange @mattly@hachyderm.io Alas, it's a winning strategy, when the software can ensconce itself well enough in "network effects", such that people won't abandon it, no matter how bad it gets

@dyckron@cosocial.ca Thank you Quebec

@asie@mk.asie.pl I laughed hard

exquisite #Goose Value #Canada #Saskatoon #YXE

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org @jbrownesq@mastodon.social I always thoroughly test my routers with iperf3. It's a strange hobby of mine. You might say, a special interest

@sarahtaber@mastodon.online "Poop, Jail, and Lettuce", but sung to the tune of "Wood, Cheese, and Children" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOETA3ZrdZ0

@ranjit@friend.camp the Owl hooteth

@homegrown@social.growyourown.services I have something even better than a list. It's Heimdall, where one makes buttons to each self-hosted web service one has set up. The buttons lead to functioning services. I use it myself, and I have buttons leading to about 14 such web services I set up myself. I actually dislike lists as in the OP, because many immature, and unideal projects can get listed. The projects aren't vetted and time-tested - just sound nice by their own salesman-like pitches. Such lists as are in the OP can "muddy the waters". They say too much, offering a bewildering array of choices which can lead people astray. Many people might choose shiny things that are high maintenance and untenable over the longer term, Each and every button I have set up in Heimdall is vetted, and time tested. It's low maintenance, efficient, and #OpenSource.

@dashdsrdash@tilde.zone me too. Nobody can just let things sit. It pretty much all has to be thrown off a cliff, to re-invent it all over again.

#3GoodThings 1) A beautiful day 2) with coffee and fresh scones 3) counting my blessings

#3goodthings 1) Petting a super affectionate, fluffy tortie cat 2) Enjoyed cooking 3) The anti-AI sentiment, in all its various forms, on #Mastodon helps restore my faith in humanity

#3GoodThings 1) Learning more about Hugo; each perplexity vanishes in turn (static content site generator) 2) Eliminated soybean oils from my diet, and my plumage looks better already 3) I'm so glad there's this huge momentum of hatred towards AI, as the world was becoming intolerably insane and inhumane otherwise PS: I'm using no AI to help me with Hugo. (AI would surely drive me nuts, as there are a ton of strange design choices about Hugo - which changes quite rapidly - that I needed to see the hard way, through gradual experimentation)

#3goodthings 1) Went for 2 bike rides, loved them both 2) Had a great meditation 3) Understood myself better today

1) today I saw a porcupine up close. Yes, for real 2) It shuffled across the path, exactly like a Goombah 3) It was about the size of a dog, very low to the ground, chubby, and very spiky. Repeat, Goombah shuffle witnessed #3GoodThings

@themipper@mastodon.social @jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net If "algorithmic media" is too innocent, then how about "triangulation media", where "triangulation" is as defined by modern psychology. It's brutally accurate

#3goodthings 1) Pelicans mirroring each other 2) Made my first Pesto 3) An inspiring toot along with thoughtful replies made my day. I found several new people to Follow #wildlife #Photography

@sarahjamielewis@mastodon.social your efforts are praiseworthy, however merging ongoing security updates will be another issue soon to follow...

1)Saw a flock of 5 pelicans high in the sky 2) Saw a large hawk on a fencepost 3) Got some fresh garden greens from a cousin #3GoodThings

@drewph@ieji.de strictly speaking, one can have a #Google account - needed for Google Play store in #Android - but stop short of having a #gmail email account.

@autistics@fedigroups.social the embedded Youtube video in the OP article seems to be broken! But the video is still in Youtube: "A Philosopher’s One-Word Theory for Why the World Feels So Weird": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5W6wgZjY0o

@jbrownesq@mastodon.social @womble@infosec.exchange @mattly@hachyderm.io Here's a poll to gain a sense of this, please "vote"! https://autistics.life/@d1/117027851794657150

@plantarum@ottawa.place @pluralistic@mamot.fr "Why aren't #AI companies competing directly with their customers?" - YET. Give it another year or two, and the disruption will come

1) Saw about 800 birds in V-shaped patterns in the big prairie sky - waves and waves of them, like an ocean of birds 2) Saw thousands of stars in the clear night sky, including the milky way 3) Went out to the country to ride around in a combine at a relative's farm #3GoodThings

@jernej__s@infosec.exchange @Catwoman69y2k@meow.social 💯🎖️

1) Shared a deadly tune with a friend. It just so happened he was listening to that exact artist duo at that time. So Syncronistic! 2) I asked him to be my friend for life then and there. He agreed! 3) We're planning a debauch at a wild party coming up! #3GoodThings

1) Saw about 8 Northern flickers (a type f bird) up close on a bike ride 2) Attended a public philosophy lecture and discussion 3) Got invited to a nice dinner #3GoodThings

@devnull@mamot.fr @jbz@indieweb.social it's impossible to ban narcissism though - which almost certainly is a precursor to being a billionaire. They are auto-generated from really bad parenting: either really spoiling a child, or really neglecting a child
