AKA: Andy Linton
I'm from Ireland but I live in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Ex Unix and network geek with a passion for trad music.
I've been on the internet since 1983 and I'm mildly optimistic about the fediverse for now.

Is there public data available in NZ that would allow us to have a winderful.nz site?
And similar solar, geothermal and hydro equivalents?

@RobynNuthall@mastodon.nz @ClareBear@mastodon.nz I think you can make a case for having an upper age limit for politicians. And I'd suggest that 80 is too high.
75 or maybe even 70?

Someone has already suggested a couple of songs linked to Cú Chulainn but here's my favourites for that hero:
Horslips - Dearg Doom
Horslips - Faster than the Hound (Roll Back version)
Plus:
Donovan - Sunshine Superman
Andy Irvine - Forgotten Hero

When you restrict your thinking to choosing things from companies you think will be around for a long time you restrict your options and those left on your list know it.
I last worked for Telstra in 2001 and unsurprisingly not much seems to have changed.
I used to be their Chief IP Engineer in Aotearoa New Zealand and had Xmas Eve interrupted when someone

Santana - Black Magic Woman
This is debatable but it's probably better than the Fleetwood Mac original.
The original Fleetwood Mac of course was a vast improvement over the later version.

I remembered 2) from reading the books several times 50 years ago so I was quite pleased with myself.
I checked online and I didn't like the US arms company that has appropriated the name:
.....is a company that develops and produces autonomous systems for land, sea and air, powered by an AI-based operating system called Lattice.

You might want to look at OpenWRT, an open source router package. They have a list of supported hardware, an active support bulletin board and you don't need to have Amazon (or any other external org) anywhere near your traffic.
There's some joke here about being as easy as ABC to setup but I've found it better than the proprietary systems.
And that would let you choose second hand systems and PC based hardware too.

TIL that if you go the Wikipedia page for "Hectare" the football field used to illustrate how big it is:
"St. Enda's GAA ground, in Omagh. The playing field used in Gaelic football and hurling is a little over a hectare in size."

But the telco procurement process costs would push the price through the roof.
