Having 90% vaccination coverage seems to be enough to curb transmission and cover the remaining 10% by herd immunity. Obviously it's best to get the rate as high as possible, but these results are pretty incredible. Hopefully the numbers hold up as this cohort ages.

If the holdings can't be taxed because it's not real money, they can't claim they're being taxed because the government isn't taking anything of value from them. To argue otherwise would be to admit that the holding has real value (and therefore the gains are real and should be taxed).

The fact that NYC pays $69 billion but only receives $48 billion in return means that the city effectively subsidizes the rest of the state. NYS transferring $4 billion in one year to NYC doesn't even come close to making up for the disparity but is still enough to cover NYC's deficit. It's like how blue states subsidize red states by paying more in fed tax than they get back.

Right now we're in the phase where the body of content that can be trained on is still majority human-generated. But with the increasing volume of "AI" content being put out relative to human content, that will change at some point. Once a model is trained on a diet that consists of a large majority of model output, and this process iterates, it devolves into a random binary generator.

The other option I've seen floated is she gives false testimony that he wasn't involved in any bad stuff and he pardons her or commutes her sentence, but this would also make his base go crazy. A final option is to keep ramping up other crises until people stop focusing on it, which is honestly the scariest option for we who care about peace and civil rights.

@ELS @Sheril Because much electricity generation in the US comes from burning fossil fuels, which are costly to import to such an isolated location. And having an interstate connected grid helps offset costs from supply-demand mismatch, which is something Hawaii doesn't have. ETA: Maine, and I believe New York, are also higher than CA.
