This is a much bigger deal than anything that happened at that hotel tonight.

@DziadekMick @stux It’s because they’re captive that they need that “human” need. These animals are captive because they were rescued and are now habituated to people so that if they were released, they would cozy up to people, which is very dangerous for a wild animal and, often, for the unsuspecting people to whom they cozy up.

@NilaJones @MartinEscardo Remember when you opened your 25k MSWord files and they suddenly expanded to 250k? That was the beginning of the end.

Another reason to dislike MAGA. They hate public transit.

@freakboy3742@cloudisland.nz Our strategy was to type your text in pica on a 3” x 5” index card and photograph the card. The goal was large font, but also less text. Ensure that any text is useful for the audience, not just to cue you. Don’t use your image text to cue yourself.

@moonrabbit@sunny.garden In my town, potato bug = jerusalem cricket = Stenopelmatidae. Common names can differ and be correct when used in the right locale. Hence the need for scientific names.

@PapyrusBrigade @AskPippa I always thought that isinglass was thin, transparent sheets of mica. Mainly used as windows in early (think Model T) automobiles. It was news to me that the word is also used to indicate fish glue.

@DavidGallagher@sfba.social Thanks! I was thinking flat-bed, but I also know that those stacker things exist, but not if they are as high resolution. I do have a flatbed, so that’s probably what I’ll use. Fortunately, my mom was compulsive about labeling the backs of photos, so at least those are identifiable.
