@Pepijn@mastodon.online@realrrscenery@mastodon.social life is being overtaken by #AIslop but that photo is particularly awful. Cheaper than a photographer though or creatives just churning out shite without even checking it is correct. Poor.
On a side note, missed it being about modelling to start. Thinking which rail company glues ballast around switches/points by default!
@G1PIE@mastodon.radio@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk to both Mikes, I agree and there are other reasons as most situations are more complicated than we believe. Something[s] need[s] to change and our government needs to drive these changes. Meanwhile, the bar keeps heading south. The UK is not what most of remember or want for the country.
@helen_saxton@mstdn.social@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk I agree totally. The companies clearly just do not care about the disruption. The water losses have been offset by the huge bill increases and the government/Ofwat's persistant get out of jail free card. Am fortunate my garden has a seperate water source but it is only the fruit and veg that gets it.
@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk@ahltorp@mastodon.nu I love grasses albeit not a carefully manicured lawn. Will still wave a grasses are plants too, although a bed of native plants are better, flag.
@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk do datacentres also have to reduce their consumption?
It would be amazing if everyone were on water meters and the actual losses can be confirmed.
@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk a seemingly increasing segment of society in Britain appears to believe it is above the law. Whether this is due a lack of concequences (unless you are unlucky), morality decreasing or lawlessness becoming the norm (or something[s]) else is not entirely clear. Many of those most vocal appear to be that they feel entitled and better than the rest.
@Gurre@mastodon.nu@TCatInReality@mastodon.social it has laready been siggested just writing down the value of the assets would mean a £0 takeover. Think it was Fergal Sharkey who is a champion and should be put in charge of Ofwat.
@Michigander@toad.social car _only_ got to 45°C today. Promise of storms, rain and coolness tonight... yaaaaaay < zero sacasm. Much appreciated the photo.
@sarahroth@mastodon.social@noybeu@mastodon.social cookies can be necessary but it has been overtaken by the commercialisation voa advertising and data mining which are the problems. The "legitimate interest" option was a capitulation to those looking to bypass the EU's restrictions and this is not policed or enforced. Now the new rules are getting so watered down they become pointless again.
When will politicans do what is best for their people and not focus on businesses or commercial interests?
@Steffi@toot.wales perhaps getting overclothes would be easier rather than a poncho. A decent long rain proof jacket with hood and over trousers.
Or just ride at the same speed as the rain! Bad joke.
@Savousepate@mastodon.social do you use any other European platforms to sell stuff?
Utilisez-vous d'autres plateformes européennes pour vendre vos produits ?
@yvanspijk@toot.community Many English speakers are horrendously lazy with pronunciation. I am very bad (and mumble too apparently). 'Efro' is the London airport formally named Heathrow.
@davidnjoku@mastodon.world@Kierkegaanks@beige.party not quite true. The Vale of Rheidol was in public ownership until 1989 running steam. By then, steam tours were a thing and Railtrack/NR did inherit some steam locos at one point too.
In Germany there are still lines operating steam on a daily basis.
@acb@mastodon.social@davidnjoku@mastodon.world there are many brand new steam locomotives being built at the moment. A P2 in the UK, a T1 in the USA, many more in the UK. The are even replicating one of the LMS prototype diesels and a Class 23 "Baby Deltic".
@Nonilex@masto.ai should sent it to Trump for signature. He'll either sign it or refuse, proving to the World just how corrupt he is and above the law he thinks he is.
@mackuba@martianbase.net my feeling is the USA has explained it will switch off large parts of the UK if it dares not follow along or causes ripples. What have the USA and Israel got on those in power in the UK they are so scared of?
