A man whose mind is a haze of swedish punk rock, fantasies about musclegirls, unhinged wordplay and strong opinions on portable electronics: along with slightly less stubborn views on software.

Type of person who thinks FirefoxOS could've found a foothold if it was built for phones with physical keyboards and shipped with a website creator: instead of effectively just being "iPhone but everything's a webapp" and kickstarting Mozilla's obsession with absurd side projects nobody really wants.

I also have a website, for when microblogging just doesn't cut it:
https://moses-izumi.neocities.org/
_ _ _ _

Banner is from a collage I did of Noah Izumi from Moblie Police Patlabor (for a cop show it has pretty okay views on technology and gender norms).
[see https://fe.disroot.org/notice/B3kS7d2BeERz3WC5Wi for more]

Profile picture is Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell drinking a can of beer almost as big as she is.
(real men aren't ashamed of putting girls as their profile pictures)
_ _ _ _

As of 27 April 2026 I only boost posts that I've replied to.
I don't wish to have a profile full of reposts, but I still see the value in signal-boosting the work of others.

May ignore this when boosting questions and warnings/PSAs.

archive[dot]today and archive[dot]is are the ones that did a DDOS and altered their copies of webpages in response to an investigation
(putting this here because I keep forgetting the names)

@daemonspudguy @zzt@mas.to @pastelfluffyfox@meow.social I think FirefoxOS could've found some success if they targeted writers and programmers (i.e by making a middling phone with a god-tier physical keyboard and shipping a website creator) instead of trying to be "Android but öhh everything's a webapp".

SearxNG is useful if you ignore the official Belgian instance.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run my impression is that that the folding screens still get damaged after a year (or two) of use. The Surface Duo series sidestepped this issue by having two separate screens. Microsoft stopped providing OS updates a couple years after release, but the community have made tailored versions of Android 14/15 and Windows 11. Have low-key considered getting one of these just so I can have a virtual keyboard that's big enough to be usable.

@shinmera@mastodon.tymoon.eu I wouldn't go as far as to call compiled binaries an antipattern, but I still think that OSes where all the applications are written in interpreted languages (wherever practical) might be a good thing for the Free Software scene to strive toward. like a media player where the GUI is expected to be rapidly hacked on, but is ultimately just another frontend for FFMPEG or some other library (admittedly one of the bigger, gnarlier codebases out there) [just a thought really]

@libreleah@mas.to "It's your computer, nobody elses" On that note, have you considered adding a guide for assembling your own laptop batteries? Would also be interesting to see Libreboot ported to various small form factor desktops, especially the ones that are energy-efficient enough to be converted into DIY laptops (thin clients, high-end Chromeboxes, industrial/embedded machines). Also massive thanks for re-arranging the list of supported devices (sorting by hardware generations and installation difficulty): frankly surprised that you didn't announce it on here.
