I'm an oldish autistic, which blessed me with the ability to think clearly and write well. Recently described as "like the kind of lumberjack you want to hug". Never doubt the power of irony.

I boost pictures of animals, plants, skys, landscapes, water (always water, and boats!) but right now it is mostly politics - the threats to everything good can not be underestimated. I would like to go back to writing about obscure kites as soon as the deeply stupid people are out of power. Please help.

@David@setouchi.social @SeaFury@aus.social Yeah, but they are REALLY DUMB. That 20% holds jobs, votes, has children, including children that go off to college, (basically they seem functional) and then out of nowhere they start telling you how the government is putting mind control chemicals in jet fuel and that is why we can see chemtrails. What? How does that even work? Who profits, who does the work but doesn't tell anybody, who is it actually working on? How can any of this fit in your existing world view? 1 in 5.

@AlexGallagher@mastodon.scot "and the man is not here to fuck spiders." No idea what I am reading half the time, but I love it (Edit) Oh my God there was a Australian to English translation section at the end! "Not here to fuck spiders: here for serious business only, no time-wasting. The most efficient sentence in Australian English."

I am one man, outnumbered by the 9 nicest chairs I have ever owned. One stool will be turned into a table, as soon as I can sand it flat. As the population boom inverts there are more people downsizing or passing on than there are young people to give stuff too. I expect we will see extremes - property, cars, RVs, given away. Resellers flooded with stuff. Boomers and GenX running out of relatives to give hand me downs too. But remember, I called it first, and it started with chairs.

The last time I bought a physical ticket was to an air show. Buying tickets to stuff was so rare in my life that I never found it inconvenient. Every time I have bought a virtual ticket, and got spam in my email for the next year, and had to give their app a lot of access to my phone otherwise the damn virtual ticket wouldn't work, well I never liked those experiences. I think the necessity of being forced to buy a virtual ticket keeps me from going to many ticketed events.

@phocks@bne.social them hoarding information after a specific financial transaction is complete creates what used to be known as an "attractive nuisance". There absolutely should be huge financial penalties. Someday they will have files of your facial print and finger prints. Just more digital data to be stolen with a USB drive by an underpaid employee or a hacker and a 123p@ssword. Your "one year of credit monitoring service" is worthless.

2/2 I mean, it is literally ridiculous. I turn down and pass by nice sets of chairs weekly. I see chairs on the curb. Someone, on Craigslist 2 days ago, was paying anyone $15 to take his chair. I have a rocking chair, a firm wooden kitchen chair, a bar stool with back rest, a papasan for the balcony across from my morning tea sitting chair. I was in Goodwill Sunday and took a picture of 20 chairs they couldn't get rid of. The population is leveling off, and now we have excess seating.

And grossly unrealistic" Trump shouts as he signs an executive order, with a 5", slim, 'handy man' model on The Resolute Desk next to him.

@crk5@aus.social a guy once told me how every year the 6th graders in his middle school were led on a field trip, "to the old cracker factory". The way he described it though, the factory had closed down a decade ago, so it was a field trip to an abandoned warehouse. He did not know why this place was important to anybody. This was so absurd I started joking about the name. "The Cracker Factory sounds like the whitest club in Detroit. Everybody be like, 'Hey y'all, let's go down to the Cracker Factory.'"

Tell me when you can smell the Republican on this guy: Bob Simril, former candidate for Portland City Council is leading the Enhance Community Safety Initiative - a ballot measure to divert 25% of the funds in the Portland Clean Energy Fund into a push to hire 400 more Portland Police Officers. The initiative was submitted with 63k signatures out of 40k needed, but after blank lines, duplicates, and nonresidents were removed, 34k were deemed valid. Backers immediately condemned the process.

Of you are anything like me, there is an age where the best thing is a day with plenty of fresh air, the barest hint of a breeze, and the absolute best temperature ever. And you just marvel at it. You are caught telling your slightly younger friends, "Isn't this just the best temperature ever!" and they act like, "yeah, it is air dude, we got things to do.." But honestly, there is nothing better than to stand still and marvel at how good the absolutely best temperature ever actually feels.

I would be like, "Hey, the government is giving away free dildos!" Just to embarrass the tut, tut brigade. Also, presumably these are rejects. Could you tell anything about popularity of features from a cusory examination of what's on display? You think the national guard put "dildo removal" on their recruiting posters?

@cmconseils@mastodon.social A friend and I had a mutual who occasionally talked about riding horses on her father's property. But my friend did not realize she was rich. "But they have horses," I said. "Maybe they make them work or something." Nobody makes a living working horses anymore. They are giant pets you can ride, so long as you own a lot of property. We lived in apartments, they owned enough property to have horses. The mutual was okay, but she made more sense when you knew she came from privilege.

Have you noticed that chocolate is both ridiculously expensive and you are getting less than ever! I'm blaming Trumpflation. Trumpflation is the additional mark up that a chaotic fool that definitely never earned their influence over a global supply chain adds to everyone's costs, through incompetence, malevolence, or grift. We don't grow chocolate beans in the US. I don't know who Trumplethinskin has a beef with now, but it is driving up the cost of my Herseys bars.

He probably should be more aware about calling himself "The Goat”.

@MissConstrue@mefi.social at this point, I would vote for witches over anyone else. Real witchcraft. We need some "newt-i-fication". Witchcraft with attitude - Bitchcraft! Because you know what patriarchy has brought us to - the whole world may become uninhabitable in the next 100 years. Why? Because the preservation of unregulated Capitalism must be preserved. Somebody must make a profit, and it must be so huge that it bends reality around it. Oh, wait, that's delusion. Enough money to live in delusion.

Tons of green energy because wind and solar is just cheaper to install and highly available during the business day. Continued storage solutions. "For all the datacenters". Charge the ones that are built premium pricing. Then, let the hype bubble collapse. Now you have enough extra energy capacity for new electric cars, and got VC money to pay for it. Bend this social trend toward solutions.

@cdarwin@c.im so, 'we' are the ones committing war crimes by purposefully targeting infrastructure of the civilian population, basically because Iran has no big ships, planes, or tanks to target. We are bombing people half a world away, and they do not have a modern military to target, except some drones and speed boats. We make a huge deal about their nuclear program, because what else could we legally bomb. We call them "state sponsored terrorist" when they targeted civilians.

We can explain the deadliness of stupidity without giving any ground for admiration. How about a wall of lies. One lie for every day of his two terms. And one sentence that tells why it is not true. There were more lies, and days where 20+ were spewed, but we can choose the best and stupidest. Stupidity - arrogance, ignorance, and apathy - needs to be marked for all time, like radioactivity.

@KO6YQ@pnw.zone that 88° day in PDX 2 days ago came out of nowhere and all the weather apps on my phone were still showing a predicted high of 75° for hours afterwards. That is a case of the historic highs influencing down the prediction. A bad sign. But it's still early. The Rose festival traditionally has some of the hardest pre-summer rain in the first two weeks of June. If we see those rains earlier or not at all, then this summer might be brutal. In 2021 we had 3 days in late June: 108°,112°,116°.
