I dunno how electronics engineers manage to work with the difficult nature of their field.
I remember the robotics and electronics students at UCSC working 18-hour days to meet the lab requirements,, like how do you keep this up.
Guess they have no option but to keep soldering on
I’m being forced to use PowerPoint these days and its font rendering is so bad!!!
Like Keynote wasn’t that great, but PowerPoint straight up does not support opentype features, something that a text editor should do. There’s no support for the multi-table kerning, making any modern font without truetype useless, it almost renders those fonts as each letter being a separate block. And even truetype support isn’t that great.
The font menu has no options to adjust font features outside of barebones basics (kerning- yes or no)
@dan@discuss.systems you should get this

Oh I guess I should plug something now that this has become popular!
Support your local independent media! In SF I recommend mission local or 48 hills. And support places that do good, like democracy now, NPR, and PBS. For when the public pays, the public is served.
Extremely suspicious about putting something called “florida crystals” in my coffee

Long shot but anyone outside US on here who is an established academic or industry person in systems willing to vouch for my systems credentials for visa purposes?
I need letters from neutral experts who haven’t worked with me, I know quite a few in the US but not a lot outside (which counts as much).
Can discuss more 1-1
Péter Magyar is such a funny name for a prime minister of Hungary. I hope the next US president is named like Jane Unitedstates

This system is so bizarre?? Why is BART paying for access to SFO??? SFO should be paying for access to BART.
In what world does public transit have to pay rents to airports
