@q66 i'm sorry, but i don't see how burning billionaire's money is supporting them. if i use a free plan for example, they are losing money. i know, their bet is that i'd rely on ai at some point, so they increase the price and enshittify the thing, the usual strategy. call it hubris, but i don't think i would rely on it in order to code.

@lucy_idk @skeptator nur weil es verboten ist bei rot über die Straße zu gehen, heißt das nicht, dass es keiner tut. Steuern werden erhoben, um eine Nachfrage nach der Währung zu erzeugen. Ein anderer Grund daneben ist es Anreize zu schaffen bestimmten Konsum zu reduzieren (Steuern auf Tabak und Alkohol). Außerdem können Steuern genutzt werden, um Vermögens- und Einkommensungleichheit zu reduzieren (Erbschaftssteuer, Vermögensteuer, Einkommensteuer).

Die Vorstellung, dass ein moderner Staat mit eigener Fiatwährung von Steuern finanziert wird ist neoliberale Ideologie, die zwangsläufig in Kürzungen in den Sozialsystemen hinausläuft. Jetzt kann eingewendet werden, dass Deutschland als Teil der Euro-Zone keine eigene Währung hat. Das ändert aber nichts daran, dass die Vorstellung, es brauche Steuern, um den Staat zu finanzieren, Quatsch ist. @skeptator@mastodon.social

I'm a software developer looking for job. I can code in python (good) and java (basic), but i'm an expert at programming in C. You could also say that i can code in C++, though i really prefer doing C over C++. I'm experienced at software reverse engineering, especially in radare2, to which i've contributed since 2013. In r2 I've co-authored ESIL (evaluable string intermediate language) for instruction emulation and analysis. I've also written most parts of the r_io API as well as a few plugins. At the moment I live in germany, but relocating within the EU for a job after the probationary would be ok for me. Previously i've worked for an US-american business, for which i've created components of an analysis pipeline for finding potential security vulnerabilities in firmware. One of the things that I've created during that time was a program, that could automatically find code and data sections of a binary of unknown format. You could destroy the elf header of a binary, throw it at the tool, and it would give you almost perfect section boundaries. This was followed by a script that would invoke cpu_rec in order to determine the correct ISA amd create a script to load the target correctly into r2 for further analysis. I was working on an elf-builder tool, which would allow customers to load the binary into any SRE tool, when someone decided the company would go "agentic" and that they no longer need me. I'd love to analyse malware or develop software for embedded systems, but i'm also open to other jobs, where i can make use of my experience and skills. #getfedihired

Der Staat muss sicherstellen, dass das Geld was er durch Förderungen und Investitionen einsetzt auch als Zahlungsmittel Verwendung findet, damit er handlungsfähig ist.

• teardown of intellectual property laws
• maybe autonomous probes for exploration of other solar systems (human bodies don't do well under zero/low gravity over time)
• semi automation of certain tedious tasks in programming, which would be ultra hard to achieve with conventional methods (e.g. "refactor this code in order to eliminate global varriables" - this can take a dev several days, is ultra repetitive and cannot be automated with a simple script)

this why i hate tests

i read "genai code is useless" so often. i don't get it, are we talking about the same thing? When i tell glm-5 to refactor some code in order to eliminate global vars and replace them with semantically reasonable structs that live in the local scope of some function using the api, it just does that. I overall need to spend less time on cleaning up after others.

A few years ago i was programming some arduino stuff for my dad. The library for the LED matrices he bought was awful: it used global vars, so that you can only use 1 led matrix on an arduino. i rewrote the entire lib, because of this shit. i don't believe genai can write C code better than me, but i do believe it can create code, that is better than the code created by people who just want to get things done and are not passionated about programming.
