But there are older versions of this experiment made by Lord Kelvin in Glasgow University, although in most pitch is now so oxidized that it can't actually flow. Arguably the oldest functioning experiment is another Kelvin one: a giant diffusion column built into a room in 1870s..

@thisismyglasgow@mastodon.scot We don't have the technical, or project management capacity or skills to do these kind of projects any more. I'd like to see GSA set up the rebuild as a long-term feature of what they do, involving technical, design and craft training and practice for the long-term future. If it takes decades, so be it. The training would be as much an output as the building, and would once more embed it (and the GSA) in local affection.

You do need to switch off their AI, but it's really simple and easy to do --> go to settings, and ensure that the AI settings switch is deactivated. As it's the very first setting you see, it's v easy.

The word "intelligence" in the marketing term "AI" is a huge part of the problem: it boosts our anthropomorphic human response. We're deeply biologically wired to be like this.
