EDIT: This is doing well! Be sure to look at my profile, I do Youtube and all sorts.

The human brain is pretty amazing, as demonstrated by this negative space illustration. Most of the car isn't even there.

This is an original illustration, created by me in ink on Bristol Board paper. I do not use AI in the creation of my work.

If you have one of those little portable AC units (which is the usual option here in the UK), don't forget they do generate water. Instead of just letting that water drain away, capture it in a bucket and use it to refill your garden water butts. We've got plenty of water for the garden and don't need to use the hosepipe, handy now there's a hosepipe ban in place. I don't know, is this a solarpunk sort of thing? Or a life hack? It feels like good advice to share at any rate.

I can't believe how smoothly this progress pride satchel went together. From the idea in my head to the finished article, the whole thing was a joy to put together.

No pattern to link you to, this is entirely of my own devising. It's the first in a series of pride flag bags I'm going to be making to sell.

This one will be in the shop soon, as will some other new things to go along with what's there already.

I have these completely unique patchwork satchel bags available on my website now https://www.angyl.co.uk/shop/handmade-bags

I can only post within the UK at the moment, I'm hoping I can change that in the near future.

This afternoon I've been hard at working photographing clothes I've made. Making the clothes is the easy bit! I've still got to sew on the labels, write up the listings, take measurements, and get them to my first event in May where they'll get their debut.

These are just two of my new hand-made reversible bolero hoodies, starting at £60 GBP. Each one is unique. I have so much more work to do to get these ready for sale!

A lovely person in the UK got themselves a Citroen BX mug this month, while someone in France picked up the same BX as a sticker.

@KimCrayton1 It's actually kind of weird to sit with your words and compare them to my own (white) experiences and yeah, you're absolutely right. Not sure what emotion I'm feeling about it, but I'm feeling it. I try really hard to experience joy for the sake of joy, because that's mine and mine alone. The push back from white friends wanting me to point out the purpose, the monetary value, of any joy is exhausting. It's especially loud from my parent's generation. Joy isn't a waste of time.

It is Trans Day of Visibility.

I'm non-binary and I make clothes that reflect that. I prefer the label Queer as it fits my gender expression best. I've got a whole playlist of non-binary finery, here's just one example of one of my favourite things I've ever made.

Video is of the construction of a floral biker jacket.

Does anyone have one of these in the UK that I could buy? The listings I've found are all outside the UK and end up costing £30 by the time they get here, which is too much.

Turns out the buttonholer I got is missing this and the thumbscrew I have is very difficult to fasten and unfasten as it's the standard length.

After cataloguing and labelling my new clothing stock that I've made, I had some time this afternoon to play around with some black and white fabric bits to see what I could put together.

This one is going to be very difficult to let go, I absolutely love it so far and I've only cut out the pieces.

Trying to convince myself that the serendipitous gift from a neighbour of a folding wheelchair for days out when I can't do the walking required is actually a life improvement. It's the sort someone else pushes.

My late gran was very stubborn about accepting help when she needed it for fear she gave up. I don't want to let that attitude prevent me from being able to enjoy some socialising on days where I'm mentally good and physically toast.

It's a hard lesson to learn.

Another fresh product range set for the 1st of May event I'm attending this year where I'm hoping they'll go down well.

These pup mohawks are my first production run, if they do well I can invest in more fur colours to increase the range.

They'll also work on bike helmets, though the fur can get a bit scraggly if you're wearing them in all weathers.

I only recently learned there's a version of Universal Credit for working disabled people, included the self employed like me. Applied for that this afternoon, 3 month wait.

Chronic illness is lumped in with regular illness, so I've got to somehow get a Fit Note from my GP to cover me for the rest of my life.

It's almost like no disabled people are actually involved in the way these systems are set up. Why can't I just say "Hi, I'm disabled and working, please help" and get help?

@fxworks@weird.autos MG feels more old fashioned, less plush, and is more cramped than the Capri. Fit and finish is also generally better on the Capri with much better noise insulation. If you want more of a grand tourer experience go for the Capri; want more of a fun b road blaster experience, the MG. The MG generally feels like a lighter and more nimble car than the Capri too, and you do feel more vulnerable on the road because of it. My taller friends tell me height isn't an issue with either car.

@Edmonds_Scanner I have to submit a fifth option: Dream House. Not the Barbie type, although that is sometimes a possibility. No, the sort of house you have in a dream where nothing make physical sense, doors go places they shouldn't, the outside is sometimes inside and it's all absolutely bonkers and yet, somehow, it all works and makes total sense. Nothing is ever where you expect to find it either.

@PupShadowNH you could still hand-wash the hood with the mohawk attached, just takes a little bit more after care when it's dried. The second-most effective attachment was velcro, which can be stuck on in the same way as the tape, but it's a bit stiffer so it's not quite as comfortable. Safety pins are another option, but you need quite a few to make the mohawk sit properly flat.

@NudelnAlDente That's a wild business model. I wonder what the logic is behind that decision. You're supposed to remove any sort of friction between the customer and their money and this is very much the opposite of that. I'm assuming they didn't even have a chalkboard of special cocktails at the bar to tempt customers with.

@PupShadowNH Thank you! After trying various options in prototyping I found the most practical and durable was strong double-sided tape. It does mean mohawks are somewhat permanent on your hood. If you are the sort of pup who likes to change the colour up, you can put velcro on your hood and the mohawks so you can swap the colours out as the mood takes you. More colours will be available in the future, for now it's just the ones shown as I make these myself in small batches.

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us without a carer, who is also my partner as is so often the case, I couldn't navigate the hellscape that is the benefits system in the timeframe they lay out or, in some cases, at all. I rather suspect an attack on carers is related to this knowledge. Being ill, or worse disabled, is the worst thing you can do as a British citizen. How very dare you? It's like being in an abusive relationship.
