In the latest fuck you to people who bought Ed Sheeran tickets... the promoters are refusing refunds on the tickets purchased. However... banks are allowing chargebacks if you used a debit card and credit card companies will allow a section 75 claim because you are not getting what you paid for... meaning that because Macklemore and other support acts are no longer performing... you aren't getting what you actually paid for when you bought the tickets... which is grounds for a refund. So get your refund, and consider donating it to a charity that supports Palestine. #FreePalestine #PalestinianHolocaust#ZionistsFuckOff#EdSheeranFuckOff

You want to know why Gen X and Millenials are so nostalgic for the recent past and angry at the world today. It's because we got a glimpse at a world of promise... a world that wasn't controlled by the dumbest, most selfish, greedy, narcissistic people on the planet. We were worried about things like the giant fucking hole in ozone layer... and smart people got together and solved the fucking problem... It gave us hope, it promised a better tomorrow. Now we remember that... and look at what's been done... and we mourn the loss of that hope, that promise... that future.

Gym Bro: I get up at 4am and go for a run, by 6am I'm at the gym training... That's the peak of being an alpha male. Me: Not it's not... Have you ever actually seen an apex predator... they're all lazy as fuck. Bears hibernate for months, lions sleep most of the day as do tigers, cheetahs and other large predators. Gym Bro: So Me: You know who gets up a 4am and runs about the place. Gym Bro: Who? Me: Squirrels... you're a fucking squirrel.

4 Non Blondes did not prepare me enough for the amount of times I would 'Step outside, take a deep breath and scream... WHAT'S GOING ON!!!' Just like Tears for Fears never properly prepared me to 'shout, shout, let it all out' and don't even get me started on how Wilson Phillps didn't tell me how many times I'd have to hold on for one more day. At least the Beatles taught me how to ask for Help.

Sure... sex is great and all that... but have you ever been validated by hundreds of strangers online for your great sense of humour and deep amusing insights into the human condition that all stems from that dark horrible place in your childhood where humour was the only defence you had to escape it all. No... me neither.

Over the last month or so... I've gone from 'how could they hire some one who plagiarised their work.... to how could the media have gone on such an obvious racist witch hunt for a man because of some accusations of plagiarism... To... oh... it was designed to be a racist witch hunt by a zionist right wing extremist who wasn't even qualified for their own post, let alone to comment on the accuracy of others. This is how the media twists the narrative... how it can take weeks to get down through the dirt and bias. But by then the damage is done... and no matter if the allegations have any grain of truth to them... the hounding of Jason Arday will be remembered for what it really was... a direct attack on his character by fascist, racist loving white supremacists who couldn't stand the fact that a black man had achieved a high position of academia and influence... that led directly to his death. They didn't pull the trigger, but they loaded the gun, handed it to him and kept chanting 'pull the trigger' It makes me sick... but it also makes me ashamed that I ever thought any of the accusations held merit. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/aug/27/ghent-professors-challenged-expertise-jason-arday-plagiarism-accuser

#SolarUpdate We ran out of battery power overnight, for the first time since the 4th April 2026. We have spent 16 weeks off grid. In that entire time, we have imported just 60.1kwh of electric. That's an average of 0.5kwh per day or roughly 14p worth of electric. But we still pay 70p per day in the standing charge for electric. The standing charge is 5 times more expensive than the electric we are using at the moment. Despite all of that, it's actually been a poor year for solar compared to last year. With generation actually being down by 10-15%... Heatwaves and perfectly clear skies, are not actually good for solar generation because the heat reduces the efficiency of the solar panels. We should have produced in the region of 680-700kwh a month for May & June based on the number of clear sky days. Instead we generated 550ish. Instead of generating 28-29kwh per day, we were generating 23-24kwh. But that 22-24kwh per day has been more consistent. With the avg per day for July being 21kwh, vs 18.8kwh for May and 18.3kwh for June. We didn't use more, but we did export a little more. #Solar#Battery#GoingGreen

@bytebro@mastodonapp.uk Ford in the US recently had to hire back about 350 engineers that had been let go as AI was used for 'design and quality control' in their place. In the first half of 2026... ford had more vehicle recalls than just about everyone else combined as the system didn't fucking work... and they had to rehire the people they fired to 'retrain' the systems to be more efficient... so they can refire them again once they've done so. If that was me... I'd tell them to fuck of if they wanted me back... or with such a large salary and contractual terms that prohibited them from firing me without a large compensation package. @dahukanna@mastodon.social

Ford motor company... went all in on AI and it backfired, costing them billions. They've admitted they mistakenly thought that introducing AI and feeding it their design requirements... that it would spit out good designs. They're now desperately rehiring hundreds of engineers after the company became the laughing stock of the industry... and the AI they've been using is to blame for the most recalls in US history... 51 recalls covering more than 11 million vehicles in the first half of 2026. 🤔 😂 #Ford#NoAI

TIL that the director Chad Stahelski, who helped write and directed the John Wick movie franchise. Was previously a stuntman and body double... and was the person who stood in for Brandon Lee to finish the 1994 movie The Crow after his accidental death during filming. May be uninteresting to most people, but the Crow is one of my fave 90's movies, and the John Wick franchise are pure unadulterated fun without any pretence of being anything other than a collection of great action sequences with a loose plot... which is what actually makes them work so much better than movies masquerading as something more and failing entirely to do any of them well.

The entire reason for Nigel 'fascist' Farage the Clacton grifter resigning as an MP and triggering a by-election is because he actually expected to lose... and that would hopefully stop the investigations into his finances... It's a publicity stunt, if he loses it because of the lies and accusations thrown at him unfairly... if he wins, it's proof that the people of Clacton don;t care about these "false" allegations of money laundering and illegal donations. But because all of the other parties collectively decided to let him run unopposed... he's faced with a near certain win... and a continuation of all those investigations into his finances and illegal donations. That's why, he's on the attack against the standards committee investigating him... He's playing the victim card early... oh.. woe is me... they're all out to get me, it's a witch hunt... I'm the most victimised uk politician ever... Right out of the Trump playbook of bullshit. The people of Clacton now have one mission and one mission only... To elect count binface and humiliate the grifting cunt.

I was in a charity shop earlier today, and looking through all of the DVD, Bluray, CD and Vinyl section. There were these two young girls there, mid teens. Scouring through and picking stuff out. One picked out a movie and showed it her friend/sister... and grinned and said... is that a good movie. I was standing between them, and just smirked and said... yup, it's really good. What followed was a really interesting conversation with them... and it was so refreshing to see the new generation not only embracing physical media, but actively looking to build up a collection. One of them pulled out a couple of albums... Not The Nine O'Clock new and a Jasper Carrot one.... I used to have them, so I was telling them about the original shows, and said... you've got to listen to the Jasper Carrot one... if only for the Magic Roundabout song... and NtNoCN for Hedgehog Sandwich. When I left, they had a pile about 10 dvd's... mostly British comedies of the 80's and 90's. Maybe there's hope for the next gen after all... we need more like that.

@TheBreadmonkey@beige.party It's also worth noting that when it comes to local elections... there's usually a very low turn out, and the ones that do vote are often the older, more right wing and racist types that would normally vote tory. Current turnout for these local elections was in the mid 30% range. When it comes to general elections, younger voters who are more left leaning, vastly outnumber the racists. But the media won;t tell you that... they'll lead you down the doom and gloom path that a reform win at the election is inevitable to dissuade you from voting. Time to make voting compulsory, and get rid of the first past the post system entirely.

Just to clear up any misunderstandings.

The Iranian navy that was destroyed 8 times has now closed the strait of hormuz again, because the united states won the war that's not actually war for the 7th time.. so the united states can open the strait of hormuz that was open before the not an actual real war was started by the united states.

Meanwhile, the not war that was started to get the enriched uranium that was completely destroyed earlier, so that the Iranians cannot build the nuclear bomb they weren't building after agreeing to not build a bomb before the united states withdrew from that agreement.

Then the united states which has nuclear weapons, threatens to use those nuclear weapons to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons because having nuclear weapons is dangerous.

I hope that makes everything clear for you... because if the united states saw what the united states was doing to the united states... the united states would invade the united states to liberate the united states from the united states.

Any medical people in the fediverse who can answer a question for me? If you know any, maybe ask them to take a look (or boost). For the last 10 weeks or so, I've been feeling a little bloated all the time. Eating habits haven't changed, drinking habits haven't really changed aside from drinking a little extra during the hot weather. I try to get at least 2lts a day, 2.5 to 3lts during the severe heatwaves we've had recently. The only thing that I can think of... is that I've been drinking out of an insulated water bottle most of the time over the last 10 weeks. Filled with a variety of drinks, both hot and cold... this water bottle has 3 caps, I'm using the one with a straw rather than just a flip top... the third is a closed lid with a handle. So my question to those that understand how the body works better than I. Can drinking 50-60% of your daily fluids through a straw, cause you to take in extra air that gets into your stomach and cause bloating? I only thought about this today... so I'm about to stop using the bottle and switch to a cup/glass again. But just wanted to know if it's possible. I don't feel unwell at all outside of normal aches and pains for my age and my disability issues are pain related to back/knee/ankle along with my autism. Answers on a postcard too... or comment down below.

I highly recommend an Australian movie called 'Rams' from about 6yrs ago. Maybe one of the last starring roles I saw him in. I've only seen him in cameos and bit parts since. He will be missed

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Always had those kinds of conversations with friends... what would you do if you won the lottery kind of things. My answer has always been pretty much the same. If I won 100+ million, I'd put 10 million into 3 high interest accounts, that paid at least 5%. One for me, one for my mum and one for my sister. That's 500k a year to live on... and that will give you a luxurious lifestyle... in fact, the more reasonable type of person wouldn't even be able to spend all of that. That leaves 70 million... even in a 5% interest account... that's 4.5 million in interest a year alone... better investment (not high risk) could see that double. I'd build social housing, setting up a charity to manage it. Reasonable rents, local homes for people who live and work locally. I'd help fund youth clubs and repair workshops, community groups and so forth. Bringing people together instead of leaving them to feel isolated and abandoned. I'd spend at least 1 million each year buying up peoples debt, targeting the most vulnerable and downtrodden... 1 million at around 10p in the pound could buy 10 million pounds worth of debt each year... and I'd cancel the lot. Freeing people of the burden and misery of being crushed under the weight... having to struggle to feed and clothe their families due to the debt holding them down and back. I could do more good with a few million each year than any billionaire has ever done.

WifiFileTransferPro - To transfer files to my device over my wifi, ad/tracking free and I paid a few quid for the pro version. Firefox web browser Brave web browser DuckDuckGo app with tracking protection enabled and a duck.com email address for online signups. Tusky app for Mastodon Ebay app Amazon app (cancelled prime 3yrs ago) should probably delete as rarely used. Proton VPN app. That's basically it... there are a couple of netflix games, mahjong and solitaire I occasionally use when out and waiting for people. All permissions are disabled for everything unless essential for the app to work, DDG app tracking blocks a lot of 3rd party attempts at data collection... but banking apps have to be disabled from DDG or they don't work. I don't need anything else... and I could probably get rid of 10-20% of what I have.

@vulgalour@birdbutt.com Former engineer here... a simple long threaded bolt with 2 nuts will suffice. Find one approximately the same length and same thread... can't tell the size from a pic. But you can pop along to your local hardware store with it and test some nuts on it. Take the 2 nuts and thread them on to the bolt. Get the bottom nut at the right position, and then using two spanners the right size for the nuts, turn the two nuts into each other until they lock. This should solve the problem... and cost a few pennies.
