My pets are very adorable. Wife got up for 30 seconds to pour a coffee, came back to this. #DogsOfMastodon #CatsOfMastodon

Petition to block the Moneris buyout. This is a big one, Moneris carries a huge amount of purchasing history that we really don't want sold to American equity. https://www.ourcommons.ca/Petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7712

That much fur looks like just so much work. #CatsOfMastodon

Non-binary folks, [how] do you vibe with gendered-ish terms used for you? Me, I'm okay with "dude" and "guy", but not so much with "man". I accept "girlie" from my teen son and his peers, as it's used ungendered in their microculture. (eta: "comerade" is always preferred)

Got hedgehog, good to go. #DogsOfMastodon

So close to a snuggle. Puppy is still being obstinate about the whole thing. #DogsOfMastodon #CatsOfMastodon

Three logicians walk into a bar. Bartender asks, "can I get you all a beer?" First logician says "I don't know" Second logician says "I don't know" Third logician says "yes, please"

They're playing! #DogsOfMastodon #CatsOfMastodon

"Clinging to the horse and buggy" is actually sort of not a bad analogy for anti-ai sentiment, since cars are a large part of how we got to this climate situation, and AI wants to do more of the same. I *do* want to cling to technologies that won't destroy the entire fucking ecosystem I live in! That's a good thing! Gas turbines are bad, actually!

"You awake, babe?"

Boomer has slightly melted in front of the fan. #DogsOfMastodon

Oy has done his first Outside! We're bad people, so his harness is a purple fuzzy bat costume. He's dubious about the whole bat-thing, but Outside is nifty. He did a big explore and checked out the whole front step. #CatsOfMastodon

3... 2... 1... Snorf. #CatsOfMastodon #DogsOfMastodon

@Em0nM4stodon@infosec.exchange (If you drive a car) I'll cat the street (If you try to sit) I'll cat your seat (If you get too cold) I'll cat the heat (If you take a walk) I'll cat your feet Catman

Seriously considering getting my AZ tags and going to drive truck for a while. Programming is all I've done in my adult life and it's what I want to do for a living, but the slop peddlers have pretty much taken that from me.

Glory to your house Honour to your techno Victory to your block-rocking beats.

So, Oy has learned to snatch Nerf darts out of the air. It's a game now. #CatsOfMastodon

Oy is mad that I found the zipper and closed the bottom of the couch so he can't get inside it any more. #CatsOfMastodon

And just like that, he's quiet and statuesque. #CatsOfMastodon

RE: https://en.osm.town/@theorangetheme/116987278565519590 Well *that* escalated quickly!

@ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social A1. Posting from Arden, Ontario, Canada. Wife and I got the kayaks out this week, spent some time toodling around Big Clear Lake. It is, indeed, big and clear. #BikeNite

RE: https://hachyderm.io/@petrillic/116926192719341431 Imagine asbestos was happening now. We'd never ban it, just let them make cancer profits forever.

If you’re taking a GLP-1, you should be aware of this risk — since it interferes with stomach absorption, that means it interferes with oral medication, including birth control. https://www.sciencefocus.com/the-human-body/hidden-ways-glp-1s-meddling-medication

Hey, anybody in my network looking to hire a legit AI/computer vision developer and researcher? At last job we bought his computer vision startup and turned it into a fairly important product. Good guy. To be clear, he does classic AI, specifically computer vision, and is not a slopmonger. Downstream from his work is a system that watches forest service cameras for smoke and fire, which seems currently relevant. #GetFediHired

Slow.... Blink. #CatsOfMastodon

*bonk*

Fuck cancer.

What are some free alternatives to Substack? Asking for someone considering SS but willing to not.

So, it appears a family of skunks has moved in under my garden shed. I'm open to advice to remove them safely and humanely, without getting me or the dog sprayed.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange Code is habitat for bugs.

@StaceyCornelius@zeroes.ca iFixit was a good resource for the insides of my 2014 and 2016 MacBook Airs; I had to replace batteries and move SSDs and memory around. I had to buy torx and pentalobe screwdrivers, as I recall, but that done it wasn't too involved.

@ShadowJonathan@tech.lgbt @arch@floofy.tech A vibrant furry population is a sign of a healthy ecosystem?

@arch@floofy.tech Things like this are why it's better I work remotely and on a different continent than the people whose code I review. "No biting", what a silly rule.
