The legislative proposal must be done together with the Council of Ministers (aka Council of the EU) and the EU High Representative (currently Kaja Kallas). Lately there have been some tensions between Von Der Layen and Kallas. I seriously doubt that the announcement VdL made yesterday for Canada wasn't backed up by the Council of the EU and Kallas.

@stefano the main issue is that often there's no possibility of choice. If you don't want an alarm system relying on the cloud, soon you won't be able to install an alarm system at all. It's what I hate the most about our times. Everyone conforms to what most people do. I assume this is a drawback due to data availability and analysis, and marketing strategies adapting through those data.

No-one would say to a slow walker "you're not a real walker" or to a slow cyclist "you're not a real cyclist". I guess the reason for this is the competitive background that running involves. There are many 5k, 10k, HM and marathons worldwide and many people compete. I even know about senior ex-runners who stopped just because they became too slow with age. I don't get this mindset at all. #running

Nor that the installation could be done via a configuration file. This gives the distro undeniably advantages for this use case compared to other #Linux distros @jon_bon@toot.cat

Je suis en train de lire le manuel pour #Reticulum et je me demande s'il vaut mieux commencer par 1️⃣ une VM Debian sur mon boîtier #Freebox, pour un RNode ou bootstrap (j'ai pas encore décidé), ou bien 2️⃣ utiliser mon très vieux Raspberry Pi.
Si 2️⃣ je pensais à installer OpenWRT (autre chose que j' ai pas encore fait).

Du coup ce toot est en 🇫🇷 car je me demande si une VM sur boîtier Free a les bonnes capacités de tunneling et si je risque quelques chose en l'ouvrant.

@marting I had a Jolla phone 10 years ago. Back then we didn't have F-droid apps store. It was nowhere near 99%. I recall this number closer to 5%. Supporting all F-droid apps would be already enough for me, I suppose. However Commodore 64 is claiming 99% and I want to understand what are the grounds for such claim. #SailfishOS #Jolla

@madcannedtuna It was a general observation, I don't know about alarm systems much. We used to have smartphones of different sizes and prices. Now small displays are quite hard to find. Also a few years ago we changed our window and we asked for a manual shutter instead of an electrically automated one. The technician didn't have a reference on hand and it would have significantly delayed the work to find one. So we installed electric shutters. Why do shutters have to be electric? @stefano

@EDPS truthfully the vast majority of people clicks on "Accept all cookies", fearing the platform might not work otherwise. For the few people who accept only necessary cookies (assuming the option is available), there's absolutely no verification system in place enforcing that choice. And no sanctions when breaches occur. Some issues cannot be solved by legislation only. The #GDPR unfortunately made the Internet more cumbersome and ultimately failed to protect #EU citizens' privacy.

Except that, when we started thinking like this, we ended up being fatter and in worse health than the previous generations. Also, when we can't afford to spend a lot of money on food anymore, we cut back on it.

The issue might concern Southern or Western countries that aren't directly threatened by Russia, like Italy, Spain and Portugal. I wondered yesterday why Italy wasn't mentioned in VdL's speech. That may be the reason. Spain can be leveraged on the migrants issue, but Italy? Public debt is lower now and there isn't a migrants crisis.

Unless a regular citizen is specifically invited for a hearing a lot of countries don't allow visitors due to security concerns. Italy and France are amon those. When I lived in Berlin I was very surprised to learn that visitors could walk inside the Bundestag. So I guess I will have to answer 0.

I'm going through the latest version of the NoC. There's another big change related to the reasoning tests.

Before only the verbal reasoning test was in language 1, now all 3 reasoning tests will be in language 1.
