mastodon 4.6.5No point giving my real name, as there are over a hundred people with the same one. I'm a bit of a lefty, with a degree in Mathematics and Computation. I have a fairly large number of computers.

Little ones in the warm greenhouse, popped straight into my mouth are the best.
I use room temperature tomatoes in salads.

I grow them in a greenhouse because it's not warm enough to grow them outdoors here.

I have nothing but utter 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 for this horribly biased judge.
Judges used to throw out trials that were so very obviously rigged.
Those who think we live in a democracy are kidding themselves.
Well done, those jurors!

Getting laws passed using sneaky procedural trickery is never a good look.
Those who opposed it should go all in on striking it down.

When I were a lad, there were quite a few hardware hacks that involved bending pins out to stop a signal. Sometimes you'd solder a wire to it, and connect it to another place on the board.

More useless flap-gob from Labour.
What they mean is "We will say any old word salad, rather than admit we are still not going to bother trying to #RejoinEU, even though we know #Brexit was a scam."

I would prefer private jets not to exist, and commercial jets to be rapidly replaced with clever alternatives.
But I'm just a crazy person who thinks it would be OK if humanity didn't die out...

I used to have a LinkedIn account, but decided I didn't want it. It took ages to get it closed, and I don't want another one.
Now, I need to send a message to a particular user, who is among the more than a hundred people in the world with exactly the same name as me. He keeps giving people my email address instead of his own, which must be similar, and I get all sorts of fascinating messages he should be getting.
Update: I have a volunteer!

I can't see anything remotely American about elected representatives moving to change a law democratically, given that it only passed through an arcane voting complication.
They go more for a dictator ordering everyone around, surely?

Quoting
@dbattistella@mstdn.ca
"Don't mention the children" by Michael Rosen.
Don't mention the children.
Don't name the dead children.
The people must not know the names of the dead children.
The names of the children must be hidden.
The children must be nameless.
The children must leave this world having no names.
No one must know the names of the dead children.
No one must say the names of the dead children.
No one must even think that the children have names.
People must understand that it would be dangerous to know the names of the children.
The people must be protected from knowing the names of the children.
The names of the children could spread like wildfire.
The people would not be safe if they knew the names of the children.
Don't name the dead children.
Don't remember the dead children.
Don't think of the dead children.
Don't say, "dead children".

It's such a pompous, self important thing, a vow, don't you think? I imagine knights, in shiny tin suits, kneeling beside their 'orse to make them.
Or it could be that the headline writers can't fit promise on the page...

I think there would be fewer young people becoming criminals if society was run in such a way that people felt satisfied that they had enough of the basic requirements for happiness.
Earlier today, somebody who is now blocked told me I am stupid, and naïve, but I prefer the term idealist. There's nothing inherently wrong with Utopianism, either.

In-house IT is better, because the staff already know what they are trying to do. Also, it avoids throwing mountains of money at, for example, Fujitsu, to name the guilty party in the Horizon travesty.
