Good morning my lovelies 🌄 Another full run in the bag, an a good one too. Settled into a really nice rhythm and flow very quickly, pretty much after taking my photo, and the run ticked past really nicely...I was kinda disappointed as I came back into my locale that I'd soon be home, so, put on a bit of power and added some strides into my final half km until home. #Running #InjuryRehab #BarefootRunning #VibramFiveFingers

Good morning 🌄 After yesterdays indoor torture session, or circuit training and physio as it's otherwise known, today I run. Laying off the hills when I run more than I walk, not because I dislike hills, but it's a question of loading, and not aggravating my MCL unnecessarily. So, I skidaddled down the coast road again, today's programme: 1k Walk - 1k Run 1k Walk - 2k Run 1k Walk - 1k Run 1k Walk - 2k Run 1/2k Walk - 1k Run...it went brilliantly. #Running #RunWalk #InjuryRehab

so, my knee is soft tissue damage, PFPS, and now I have a knee support which I am really inpressed with I might add... it is not for use during running (though i can wear it walking) as it's too restrictive However, a longish walk has to wait until Friday...and a run...maybe (and the word MAYBE was stressed to me) another week after that 😭 At least I have a timeline,it is all dependent on wearing the support, doing the exercises (even though its real hot) and listeniing to my knee #Running

I am missing running and as much as walking is good, its not the same and I missed physio yesterday, because I was writing, and apart from one walk and one gym session I've been the most sedentary I've been in almost 3 years. definitely lost my mojo :(

I was reading The Iliad on the bus this morning, when a guy who had obviously seen the Greek soldier on the front cover of my Wordsworth version, of Homers epic, translated by George Chapman (no relation) turned to the lady sitting next to him, and said "That's the book the film is based on"
to which I replied, "No, That's the Odyssey" and moved my hand a little so he could see the title. He did go a little red, but I had to correct him

I need to do some physio, core and isometric exercises...I really feel lazy, having skipped doing it for the last few days because of the heatwave. My right knee is stiff as a board, but no longer in constant pain, so I have to start doing some movement. I can predict that the next 30 to 45 minutes is going to be a fairly unpleasant experience, as though the temperature is less the humidity is more.

I'm literally not surprised at this news...United women's team has had, zero investment this summer, sold off the top players, and of course Ratcliffe has already said in not so many words that 'he couldn't give a fuck about the women's team'...so, Skinner leaving right about now was inevitable, plus he is a stubborn fucking coach and probably should've gone in 2024 but got them into the WUCL so, got a reprieve and 2nd bite of the cherry. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cdewr8w0r80o #FediFC #WSL #MUFC

@sebastianhahn@mastodon.world 25 to 32 is ok for running in...so you get used to it, I didn't like it when I first moved out here, but acclimatisation really does work...the closer the temp to body temp the more fuel you need and the quicker you burn through your glycogen, and if you are running in temps hotter than that, then that's one hardcore fueling strategy you have

@s1m0n4@ohai.social The sea is not much cooler (currently 29 celsius)...but I had thought about going for a swim. the problem would be navigating the slippery rock way entry points with my not totally mobile right leg, with the worry that I would definitely twist the knee again if I slipped

@runningoff@lgbtqia.space it's a nice thought...all the local gyms are small and very weight training orientated, with just a couple of machines for cardio (spinning, treadmill and a janky cross trainer) the larger.gyms.have more machines, air con,.chrome,.air con,. beautiful people, but are a pain in the.ass.to get to... residents.can use hotel gyms, but not at peak times of the year...so June, July and August... my physios gym is essentially a nicely decorated air conditioned garage with mats...ho hum
