PE is either sport — getting squashed in the mud, whacked on the shins with a hockey stick, etc — or it's gymnastics — having to vault over stuff with the ever present danger of whacking your coccyx on the edge, or climbing a rope to dangerous heights.
So many people are, and have been, put off all exercise by the extremely limited idea of exercise at school.
Schools should give the option of Yoga, Pilates, and proper weight training.

Doing what is wrong is what has got us in the mess in the first place.
Doing more of what is wrong to ease the consequences of doing what is wrong only leads to more consequences.
Eventually you run out of wrong things to do. Usually by then it's too late anyway.
Let's ease the consequences of doing what is wrong by doing what is right.

My own cognitive biases terrify me: like a virus that lurks hidden, waiting to be woken by a random thought or event.
I fear them because I could act on them and I could encourage others by them. But I also fear them because expressing them could see me 'cancelled' and unable to express another thought.
What defences do we have?
How can we guide each other through the morass?

Same algorithm in different languages does not compile to same binary.
Back in the day, systems programming was done in C: lean, fast, efficient.
World's first bank trading system occupied 256k RAM: 128 for the OS, 128 for the application. Try doing that in C++ or any other OO language.
The world is burning: we need to go back to lean and efficient. You're right, I shouldn't have laughed, I should have cried.
But, it's only a config interpreter in a world of AI…

Concur with much of what you say here.
But is it your assertion that the binary from an OO language, that has to spend the first five minutes (yes, I'm exaggerating) instantiating objects, will be as efficient as the binary from C that shifts registers and moves pointers?
Was your microcontroller code really C++, or just C that had been passed through a C++ compiler?
Why do people get excited about the efficiency of C, if any OO code is just as good?
