@nickapos @billgoats Well for starters there's the fact that all other e-book devices support e-pub just fine so it's restricted in that regard. There's also the fact that once you've jailbroken it you can use a program called KO Reader as your e-book reader and it is so far beyond what is included with the Kindle I could not go back.

@andycarolan@social.lol @pvonhellermannn@mastodon.green @jakubwiech@bird.makeup Sadly I think you are correct. I wonder if any of them have stopped to think what they're gonna do if the core of humanity is wiped out. Who's going to work their fields? Who's going to make their stuff? I mean, these people don't know how to do anything except hoard money.

@Gulleko@kind.social I do get tired of jump scares in films because they're usually telegraphed and really cheap. I want the slow grinding tension and anxiety, not the fucking cat jumping out of nowhere or something like that. Fake jump scares are even worse.

@Gulleko@kind.social I really wish I could remember the title of the one I wanted to recommend to you because I continue to be pissed off that I can't remember it.😂 And it's frustrating because the thing that would probably remind someone of the movie if they'd seen it is also a massive spoiler.

@Yuriel@kind.social @ldottxt@kind.social I used to have a friend who was a prosecutor and he said about a case to me once where it was two best friends, went into the woods, got drunk, got into a fight, one shot and killed the other. He was adamant that that would never have happened if they'd been smoking weed and he was absolutely right.

@georgepenney@sunny.garden There's also a couple I see where they have people come into a record store and do sets, so while they're doing a set you've got people in the background just browsing through records. I do love this portable DJ gear that allows this sort of thing. It's very good.

@georgepenney@sunny.garden I love seeing these DJ sets in weird places. There was one I watched recently that was in an active pizzeria. The DJ was eating pizza and people were ordering their pizzas and picking them up and we were watching them get baked and everything while the music played.

@misty@digipres.club I love that that works on 99% of paywall websites. I've often stopped to wonder what the click-through rate on these sites that demand you create an account or even worse pay is. It can't be any more than 2% and I think that's probably being extremely generous.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange Going back many years ago there was a road near where I lived and there was a wall on the corner of a road and you could see two circles on it. If you went and looked closely you could see the imprint of wheel nuts. A pair of drunks stole a car and were being chased by police and they tried to make a turn and failed and the side impact killed both of them and the only remnant left was those marks on the wall and they were there for over a decade until the area was redeveloped.
