Let me sketch out another "theory" of what this is: Trump is an addicted user[1] of "alternative" facts and bullshittery (in the Harry Frankfurt sense) and doesn't care a iota for "accuracy".

So the question is, what's the purpose of this messaging?

Since he is now talking about the "threat of communism to our country", one obvious explanation offers itself: He is testing the waters for instigating a new red scare, a national emergency and likely ideological purges. The latter because how else could one remove democratically elected "communist" representatives.

Do I need to repeat my recently more often stated opinion that US America sitting there and let him talk like this is already a big problem? He is entitled to an opinion, but as a president he is not entitled to divisive hate speech and smear campaigns. This is disqualifying.

Admittedly, on the same count in Germany we should kick out Merz as Kanzler.
