I have had to remove all reference to ProtonVPN by @protonprivacy@mastodon.social from Ethical Revolution. My 'Goodby Google' (https://ethicalrevolution.co.uk/de-google) and 'Opt Open Source' (https://ethicalrevolution.co.uk/opt-open-source) pages no longer promote them. I've had a terrible experience. Their attitude towards customers cannot be classed in any way ethical. They hoodwinked me in to paying a large sum of money and refuse to reimburse me even though they cannot provide their service on my Linux machine. This after I took care to read in full their refund policy page to ensure that I would be entitled to the reimbursement should the service not work, before I tried it. Their position is to not listen to me nor take any notice of my experience, and to instead tell me that it's just tough, that I must accept that they are keeping my money and that I am unable to use the service properly. My personal recommendation is to avoid #ProtonVPN.

That was so much fun! Thank you to all of the amazing #bonkwave crew and contributors for creating and bringing together the community. 🤗

Very proud to have our Secret Deal track alongside such talented musicians. Now that the video for it has premiered it’s up on Peertube: https://spectra.video/w/g78vwrVWT34xTHYBxSoNxM … I was getting very anxious as the party went on, knowing our track was the last one and with all of the other tunes being so good. Fortunately my self doubt was eased as I could lean on the talent of both @stefan@stefanbohacek.online and @ordosmarkzero@ravenation.club who combined to make such a cool track.

Listen to all of the tracks from tonight’s party on ‘The Four Seasons of Bonk Wave: Autumn Waves’ disc 1 of 3 at https://music.bonkwave.org/the-four-seasons-of-bonkwave-autumn-waves-1/

Plenty more live #FediMusic action next week - 2 live gigs, an album listening party, TIBtv’s Fresh Friday and the Bonk Wave disc 2 party. See https://nham.co.uk/attend/ for details and timings wherever you’re located!

I’m not usually one for boring people with my dreams but I woke this morning from a particularly cracking one where @bgm@musicians.today was giving me lessons in warming up my voice before singing:

We were in the sea. 🏖️ His technique was to wade as far from the shore as possible so as to belt out ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahrs’ as LOUD as possible with minimal disruption to those sunbathing on the shore. 🗣️ Only issue was that his voice was so strong that he would wade out for miles and still be heard by the holiday goers and local residents on the beach! I and my fellow paddlers were in awe.

@inpc Great to hear it went well in terms of the show, Mxtt! No reason to not go back to flyposting I’d say. And being creative locally. There are often local noticeboards in little places - cafes, shops etc. that owners are more than happy to have little flyers put on. Tell your local record store: Explicitly say there will be no online promotion on traditional social platforms so it would be great if they could lend their support to your shows by letting customers know about them. If you have any kind of marketing budget maybe even think of doing a cross promo with your local record store where you purchase a £25 voucher for the store that you’ll give away at the gig to someone. The record store could promote that to customers. I’d go to a gig I knew nothing about if I knew I had a good chance of picking up a voucher for my fave record store. Do that a few times and you might build a cult following. Just ideas off the top of my head. I’m sure it’s doable. A struggle to begin with I’m sure, but worth it. Big up to you my friend!

Replying to

@ftmf I’ve just released a new video for @axwax’s brilliant remix of @stefan and my Secret Deal ‘Eco Pop’ song All Around: https://spectra.video/w/sYe5Dm2psVkVF1AsJ3G2Hk It features both Ted and Ralph 🐾 …and Ted even managed to get a production credit because he clicked my mouse during edit which caused a cut in one section that I simply had to keep in the final edit. The original idea for the video came from AxWax, that the three of us would all record ourselves doing a Dylan-esque take dealing out large sheets of card with the words from the song. I went first and made all the bits of card up before realising the card was too thin to be able to deal out from a held pile! So that’s when the idea to superimpose the card on to a TV screen came in. With the boys being too busy at the time I ploughed ahead and before long we had the final video. Credits for the rest of the graphics in the vid are in the video description on it’s @peertube page (via @spectra). It will get a premiere showing live on @TIBtv tonight at 6pm UTC alongside other new music vids submitted to the station this past week: https://tv.theindiebeat.fm/ #EcoPop
