Remember those old music files I found on a CD-R a few days ago?
I've cleaned them up a little with RX and Ozone, and released them as a mini-album of sorts. These date from the mid-1990s, the files were in a bit of a state and the quality in all respects is.. a bit poor, so listen with that in mind..
https://music.key13.uk/the-prehistory-of-key-13/
I've also written far too many words about them, which no-one should bother to read all at once, but it's here if you want it:
Have you ever wanted Key 13 music on physical media? No? What if it came in a beautifully designed box set of 3 mini-CDs?
Still no?
What if it was free. Completely free. How about then?!!

It's #MusiciansDay - am I a musician? Who knows.. I generally only use virtual instruments, does that count?
But I do make some things that are approximately music, as Key 13. In the last couple of months of 2025 I made some tracks using a real instrument, of sorts - although perhaps it's more of an expensive toy.
"audius consumed" was made entirely on a Teenage Engineering OP-XY - and while it starts with me just playing around, I got better...
With all three of the Autumn Waves releases now uploaded to the radio station, we have over *23 hours* of music! 320 tracks!
https://not.what.i.call.radio.bonkwave.org/
A reminder, there's more than just the compilation tracks, we also feature other tracks from contributing artists. If you're one of them, and you want your tracks up there, check the board for more details.
A reminder - if you like any of the artists on the #BonkWave releases (and why wouldn't you - there's something for everyone there, surely!) - each artist has their own page on https://music.bonkwave.org/
You can find links to their music, and sometimes a fediverse handle to follow.
Just click through their name on any release, or use the "Browse" button top right on the site.
For example: https://music.bonkwave.org/c-circo/
The full set, printed and burned.
Aligning the CD artwork in the printer seems to be a bit random. The same setting doesn't always produce identical results - must be something to do with the way the tray is inserted which is annoying.
They do look beautiful though, if I do say so myself!
Now I just need a mini box slip to put them in.
The new #FSoBW Autumn Waves 1 tracks are up on the radio station at https://not.what.i.call.radio.bonkwave.org/
You may not know that the radio station doesn't just play tracks from the compilations, but also other tracks from contributing artists.
For instance, "Holden Fruit Gambit" by @james@sunny.garden - which you might recognise as the "Bonk Wave Clock" music.

If you're a contributor and you want your tracks on there, check the #BonkBoard for more info.
Don't forget - part 2 of Autumn Waves is released tomorrow, with another viewing party at 20:00 UTC at https://party.bonkwave.org
Get yer Bonk Wave!
Fresh Bonk Wave!
Today will be your last chance to catch a #BonkWave release party until the next batch...

Here's a fun thing¹
I've just noticed that I inadvertently used a different centred-dot character for my two similarly named EPs:
Sea · Sky · Clouds
Sun • Moon • Stars
Maddening.
The first one is a "middle dot" or "interpunct", Unicode U+00B7.
The second is a "bullet" - U+2022
The first one is (possibly?) more grammatically correct, but the second one is easier to type as it's Option-8 on a Mac keyboard.
Gah.
So, do I fix it? Everywhere? :(

¹ for a certain definition of "fun"...
I should probably mention that there is a tiny little new Key 13 track on today's upcoming #BonkWave release. It could be #NotBonkWave I suppose, who knows...
The track title was taken from some spam posts we had on the BonkBoard. The track itself was made entirely with Cherry Audio's Elka X soft synth, even the percussion.
Release party at 20:00 UTC which is 21:00 in London, 22:00 in Brussels, 16:00 in New York and 13:00 in Vancouver.
RE: @alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com
Sadly you just missed this week's party - but there's two more on the 17th and 24th! come join us then for parts 2 and 3!
The lobby is open right now at https://party.bonkwave.org
I would advise any fans of cowbell to get there early.
#FediPuzzles - only one this week.
There might be more than one reasonable answer to this, although I have a specific one in mind.
Check the alt-text if you're not sure what some of the icons are. Although that may not be entirely helpful, don't want to make it too easy!
Please put right and wrong answers behind a content warning, so as not to spoil it for others :)
