I went on a nice bike trip on Sunday and saw plenty of insects! Here are two highlights, Chaetopteroplia segetum and Coenonympha glycerion. Cute!

Max, overwintering bug
#Evolutionary entomologist & insect whisperer. Probably in a parc somewhere in Vienna.
Bread maker and hummus lover. My cats are cuter than yours.
check out my podcast, The Insect Insights!
You can tag me on insect pics for help on identification ☺️
Another entry for #insektenSamstag : Molorchus minor. One of the most stylish longhorn beetles

A cute lady #beetle for #insektenSamstag !
It's a genus I had not seen/known before, Henosepilachna. Species in this genus are phytophagous, unlike the most commonly seen lady beetles. I think they're also a bit cuter.

The Insect Insights are back!
A first episode of a second season, going back to ants after a long break 😁
I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you soon for more in a few days!
Going flower picking for some kitchen projects today, and natürlich I saw a few bugs while doing so

cool paper looking at moth diversity in New York!
The results are far from surprising (more trees and less light makes more moths), but I like how they used @inaturalist@tweet.pasture.moe while being critical of the dataset.

I think this second season of the insect insights will be 6 or maybe 8 episodes, but not much more than this!
And then, maybe the project will be over for good, I'm not sure.
But in any case it has been great making this, and I can't be thankful enough for all the support I got through the fediverse.
Special thanks to @radiofreefedi@musician.social for broadcasting me, and to all the people who reached out or recommended me to their friends!
I'm really impressed my little project reached so many people. I didn't really keep a proper count, but I would estimate my insect stories were listened to between 20 and 30 thousand times in total! Which is insane, and mostly thanks to you :)
NHM Vienna is co-organizing an #inaturalist project in two weeks, to record as many amphibians and reptiles as possible!
I think I will try to get at least one little field for it.
