@danielskatz@fediscience.org "My substack", because they honestly believe they have any ownership over it. Right next to "my Instagram" or "my Discord server".

My name is Gabe and I'm here to say, I'm rockin' on the mic every two or three days.
I'm the maintainer and primary developer of #Owncast. I'm generally always happy to talk to you about the project, it means a lot to me.
I'm not on Mastodon, I'm on the Fediverse. So are you.

@ddlyh @meljoann That "you will be able to enter your fruity chat messages" notice isn't coming from Owncast itself, so something looks like it was tweaked there. I'm super excited about this, since I tried doing a 24/7 MTV-style music video stream in the past and couldn't get anybody to submit anything. So this is wonderful that it's working out way better than I ever did.

@docpop I’m going to try this because I’m bad at games and I like tricks to help me make progress.

@dfyx @yvan @frameworkcomputer Not sure what you're using, but I'm certainly not posting on anything that's built in Ruby or has to do with DHH.

@sue@glasgow.social The internet is a big place, and we’re all allowed to try our own things for our own reasons. Because I choose to write software, and give it away, to enable people to do things with, doesn’t make me a part of some kind of problem, and I’m sorry you see me that way. I can’t do everything for everyone, but I can do this. There are plenty of companies who make money and they’ll happily take you. Turning every free software project into a capitalist, venture-funded, profit-first endeavor isn’t the solution that you think it is.
