The Synclavier Regen.
An engineering MARVEL.
I've owned mine for several months, and have come to ADORE it. HOWEVER... It ain't the easiest or most intuitive synth to get your head around.
So, I've created a Practical Manual for Sound Designers & Performers that you can find here: https://gregwilder.com/work/synclavier-regen-practical-manual
So... is anyone interested in seeing video tutorials?

What?!? She was COLD and wanted to keep a look out...
Part of my ongoing and award-winning series "About my Pampered Dog"
I need to leave YouTube. I'm fully aware of this.
It's just so hard with videos like this. So many videos, almost as good as this.
"What's more boring than a keys player in the back looking down? Nothing."

I mean, all that R&D is worth sumpthin' right?
@bigattichouse@mastodon.social
I hear you and have been there... your replacement looks STUNNING!!
After all that pain, if only there was something other than "Oh look, it works just like it did before!" you could point to...
Your video is very clear, articulate, easy to follow, and just plain EXCELLENT!
It's always helpful and interesting to see the setup of another active musician... My suggestions were very small things and 100% a matter of personal taste.
@bigattichouse@mastodon.social
I've smelled the autumn fires lighting up in wood stoves... I've listened to a friend describe manifestations of a life-long love... I've seen my pups chase each other around the mountain property with pure joy and bonded love... and I've watched an artist become entranced by sunlight refracted through a Ziploc bag and projected onto a nearby wall. :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
Not sure if any of that moves us forward, but I'm also not convinced there's a lot more to the journey.
T-minus 5 minutes.... :blobcatcheer:
Time to take on the attention economy and what it's done to artists. We're not powerless... but what can we do?

LOVELY!!
And because you asked, I have a few thoughts...
1) The first 2 minutes of what you wish for the future is not relevant to the viewer. Just jump in and the improvements in future videos will speak for themselves.
2) Good background music is HARD. The frequencies need to stay out of the dialog intelligibility areas which often means flat, drone sounds. Maybe it's not needed?
Just my thoughts... and your tour, presentation, and desktop setup is GREAT!!! THANK YOU!!

Great points and beautifully said!! :blobfoxartist:
While on one hand I'd love to see big tech fall to the fediverse, I suspect the unfamiliarity and slight technical inconvenience will help keep this wonderful place limited to a manageable human scale.
The place where only the coolest kids hang out. :flan_laugh:
Can you make art without selling your soul to capitalism? :ablobthinking:
@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com and I return to detonate the incendiary claim that ended Part 1...
Our conversation finds hope in the Fediverse and examines why artists need to break away from the attention economy.

+2 for zooming. Given that it's not obvious how to do it in a Linux livestream, perhaps your solution would make a valuable toot or video?
:blobthanks: MANY thanks for all you do for Linux audio!
