Ben Pate 🤘🏻
Howdy! I'm the nerd who's building #Emissary - an ActivityPub server for building custom social applications on the Fediverse.
My first app on this platform is a music sharing server for indie bands, called #Bandwagon. And now I'm also working on #Atlas, a social mapping server for adding Federated annotations to places in the real world.
If you'd like to talk about any of my projects, feel free to DM me here, or on Signal (@benpate.5280)

#Emissary is currently undergoing its first colonoscopy - a full QA scan by a third-party QA company..
I've done these in the past with other software. They're always informative, always make the software better, and are always a tremendous pain in the ass to fix.
When the anesthesia wears off, I'm gonna need a cookie.
Bandwagon in the news!

(Jimmy) Iovine put it bluntly: “The streaming services have a bad situation, there’s no margins, they’re not making any money.”
Let's all celebrate with a single tear 💧
WeDistribute is back at it with another comprehensive run down of where we are as a technology. Great work as always, guys.
And thanks for the checklist. Now I know what I’m doing this summer.

No, you can use it any way you want.
But however YOU use it, Mastodon (et al) will still treat it like a "boost".
I'm pretty sure that's why the Threadiverse groups use Add -> Collection semantics instead of Announce. Otherwise, every item in a group would look (to Mastodon) like it had been shared 1000 times.
