@82mhz I tried this for myself a while back… I think it'll depend a lot too on your specific hardware. Sounds like yours is better than mine. And the genre of music; with classical, for example, better hardware can help you better distinguish the different instruments from each other. Cool A/B player, though! I had just listened back to back.

Thank you everyone for the headphone recommendations! I had every expectation I would just pick the closest thing available to what I’d already had but @cherizilla@retro.pizza made a suggestion that really intrigued me despite being vastly different from what I’ve used in the past. Upon that tip, my Koss Porta Pro headphones arrived this evening! I love them so far! I will probably do a blog post or something about them shortly.

Amazing documentation (best I've ever seen in tech, probably), great product, and it's a "pay what you can" model where people who can afford to pay a bit more help subsidize people on a tight budget. It includes email hosting as well, I believe, though I didn't use that. (It's also prepaid, which is a model I'm personally a fan of. Load up whatever amount of credit you want and it'll pay your chosen amount from that balance each month. First full month is free. When I contacted the team about a refund of remaining credit when I moved [the built-in refund feature doesn't work with US banks I think] the team was helpful and got it done quick.) This instance was actually originally hosted on Uberspace, until the stuff I hosted outgrew it and I decided to spring for a dedicated server.

@linux_mclinuxface I usually prefer a CLI to either in sysadmin contexts, to be honest. You have to be a lot more specific and draft everything out at once, which for me at least helps reduce catastrophic errors. I don't know if I use a TUI for anything on my server other than displaying statistics or system resources or whatever.

@thedoctor @rl_dane @joel @theresmiling Haven't looked closely enough at Job but I would definitely agree there's a spectrum between prose and poetry. Some of Ray Bradbury's prose is literally iambic.

@AAMfP @thelinuxcast I recently ran my main pen, a $80 one, through the wash, somehow with the cap off, and the nib is ruined. 🥺 They’re replaceable on this model, but that’s still $30 down the drain.

On that note if you do have headphone (not earbuds) recommendations I will gratefully accept them. I’m not looking to spend too much but do want something that works well and will last at least as long as these did. These were Soundcore Life Q10 and worked fantastically for very cheap. I may get a model from the same line, not sure. I historically have not wanted ANC but will consider it this time, since it would be handy on road trips and flights which I seem to be doing more of than I’d like.
