FTFY

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Yeah fine, but not having an Email is simply not an option for basically anyone. It takes a special kind of privilege to be able to afford this so while there's of course merit to not be reachable (at least temporarily), this has almost no value for anyone but this particular dude.

@joeress@mastodon.social Why did we (i.e. all of Europe as far as I know) think that outsourcing basically all of our digital financial infrastructure to the US was a good idea again? I kinda forgot. The most annoying thing is that I can't even switch away from VISA.

@vwbusguy Also, it has cool things like package registry for .deb, .rpm and Arch packages on a per-user basis. I think that's pretty sweet.

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org So many PCs... Great work, man!

@murraylivingston@mas.to Definitely wallpaper material. This is lovely.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange My two most basic needs are not met 😭

@benalldridge@mastodon.social Beautiful!

@SmudgeTheInsultCat If you take the Bible at face value, which this meme seems to do, point 5 is inaccurate. The Bible does indeed mention multiple occasions of God speaking directly.

@bagder The original hipster :D

@sortius@mastodon.social @andycarolan@social.lol @nileane@nileane.fr I suppose not :)

@wnd@fosstodon.org @andycarolan@social.lol @nileane@nileane.fr Maybe but who is?

@gamingonlinux I mean, I wouldn't complain 😅

@gemelen@mammut.moe This might be the more sensible approach. @homelab@fedigroups.social

@homelab@fedigroups.social Does anyone of you fine people have experience with a self-hosted k3s cluster and nodes on different networks? I'm wondering whether it's a good idea to consolidate all the services I run at home with the stuff I have on a VPS this way. #homelab #selfhosting

@killyourfm Relatable. Piracy is also not something I'm prone to doing but in recent years it more and more seems like the most sensible option. Or maybe that's just me. I rip my own stuff, throw it on Jellyfin and am happy :)

@jimsalter@fosstodon.org @JoeRess@fosstodon.org I only skimmed the headlines of one newspaper and while it wasn't at the top, it was in there sure enough. Might be because I'm German, though.

I think, instead of buying a Steam Machine, I'll get a prebuilt PC for about the same money. It'll have significantly more performance and I don't rely on the form factor or the console-like features anyway. Unfortunately, I'm not terribly well-versed in what combo of hardware makes most sense, and I'm not sure how reliable all those websites with FPS estimators are. Do I know anyone who is more knowledgeable in this field? #gaming #buyapc #gamingonlinux

@jonasgeiler@fosstodon.org @nixCraft@mastodon.social If you give me a secretary for my correspondence (which I'd love, by the way), I will absolutely stop using Email.

@joel @syl Got it! Thanks, man!

@homelab@fedigroups.social Hey people, can anyone recommend a somewhat minimalist workflow for managing Docker compose container deployments (not with K8s) and integrating it with git? I'm looking at ways to make my current setup more GitOps-like, I ha e my stuff in a repo and deployments and updates are done with Ansible playbooks.

@970uts1d3@defcon.social @homelab@fedigroups.social I thought we don't portainer anymore but I've never used it myself.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I'm sorry, I don't understand this. I haven't done the math myself but it seems obvious that this whole endeavour just isn't worth it and the money would be better spent elsewhere. Battery technology or something. But then why do it at all? I don't get it.

@jt_rebelo@ciberlandia.pt Yeah, this is the only thing I can do for now, I suppose. I am aware of Wero but they don't support my bank (yet?). I'm not aware of credit card providers that are not US-based but I'll admit that I did not conduct a ton of research in this direction. Are there any alternatives worth mentioning? @joeress@mastodon.social

@JoeRess@fosstodon.org I tried gaming on my phone like this but the lack of haptic button feedback put me off enough that I stopped again.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange @BeamMeOut@mastodon.social @david_chisnall@infosec.exchange Very much so. It rather feels actively hostile towards Linux

@andycarolan@social.lol @nileane@nileane.fr He doesn't sound entirely sober

@killyourfm Yaaaarrrrr!

@niccolove Sure, valid point. They do explicitly endorse that "distro", though. But yes, also not the point, I know.
