I'm a serial hobbyist, trying to have as much fun as I can, Some things I find stupid, and I probably will tell you, but I try not to be a dick about it, mostly I do manage that.
Anything I say is just my personal opinion or if it sounds really stupid, probably a joke. Yes I might have opinions that you don't like, and if you don't I'm willing to talk
about it, just be honest and decent and I will strive to do the same.
Anything I post on here is under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 If you want to use my posts for something commercial (LLM training, ad testiment etc) just contact me and I'm sure we could
make something out.
Some things I do like:
- Programming
- Shorthand
- Retrogames
- Indiegames
- Pen and paper puzzles
- Reading

That being said Pommes Frittes spice-mix is a bit more than just paprika, it's paprika, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Some times with some sellerie or cayenne pepper as well.

@vantiss@social.treehouse.systems Yeah, I read that one and was confused, it didn't even argue what it sets out to argue from my interpretation, the title and description seems to talk about the LLM coding a better LLM that's coding a better LLM etc, while the article argues that feeding it's own output into its own training material makes it worse, which seems kind of self evident. I was more confused after having read it.

@MTP That's good :)
I left the official youtube stuff, and now use Newpipe for everything, but there are a ton of things that makes that something that most people wouldn't enjoy using, it has no recommendations, only a linear time ordered list of videos from people you're subscribed to, and you can't comment or anything, and it some times break when google is changing things around a lot again.

Having cleaned up some things "created" by coworker with LLMs has shown me that dealing with LLM mistakes usually are way more tiring than fixing errors made by people too. Most of the code looks plausibly good, and the errors are usually way more hidden away than the errors that a normal person would make, they get hidden between layers of abstraction, and it doesn't seem like there are much try at simplifying things, rather the opposite. I at least find myself tire from fixing and debugging those things so much faster than from something where someone at least tried thinking something through.

@rl_dane@polymaths.social I don't know, maybe I just don't care too much about the things that it scrambles, I don't think I ever really notice it doing much, other than having to enable the canvas at times.
But then again I'm the wacko running with ublock and noscript as well :p

I know, I tried doing some german learning, but ended up just faking it until everyone here are convinced that I know german :p (well I mean I did pass the BII test, but I'm fluent now, maybe not good fluent, but well enough that I don't get complimented about how good my german is all the time :p)

@pauleveritt@fosstodon.org @reflex@retrogaming.social @anildash@me.dm Also the only real solution to oligarchs are taxing them out of existance, and using their money for good, not using their fascist tools without thinking, licking their boots and pretending your a temporary embarrassed millionaire, one wins by working together with the many, not by siding with the oligarchs and fawning for the crumbs they let fall down, that you're lapping up like a fawning dog here. It's just acting like a naïve person, helping them furthering their goals, helping them driving a wedge into the working class and setting us up against each other.

@astronomerritt@hachyderm.io I have mostly gone for the last option, my page is basically just text. It's probably not optimal for gathering readers, but it's not really what I'm after anyway, it's also nice in that my whole page is tiny, the whole blog coming down to under 3 mb for the complete thing, loads quickly on all connections and so on.
I agree with you though, if I see a picture that is obviously generated I really do not feel like reading the text, since I'm having the feeling in the back of my mind that I'm just reading something an LLM spewed out.

@alice@lgbtqia.space This is a thing in japan, if something starts before 00 and lasts longer you can get into things like a movie that runs from 23:30 - 25:00 for example, or in things like parking spaces, so there is at least more people that think the same way as you :)

@rl_dane@polymaths.social Oof, yeah, bottling things up usually is a recipies for it to pop some time. I never found being stoic to be very helpful, it's what tipped me over into a huge bout of depression earlier in my life, after that I figured that letting some of it go just is needed, we're only human, we need to vent and get the feelings out somehow, if anyone thinks me weak for it, honestly I don't care, I need it to keep at least a modicum of mental health.

@alice@lgbtqia.space @va2lam@mastodon.nz Hehe, I was living there for 2 years when I was at university (Japanese language major) I would say it's a wonderful place to visit, I don't think it's a place I would like to completely move to, things like work-life balance, politics are pretty bad, and it's hard to get an inroad if you don't look asian, or the "wrong kind of asian" might be easier as an american person though, since at least then people are wanting to practice english, I'm not a native english speaker so that also is an issue.
Like all other places there are a huge bunch of plusses and minuses, at least for me there were enough minuses that I decided that was not for me at least :)

Developers have really weird ideas.
So developer at work has a server running in java/tomcat starts discussing with me that he wants a cronjob running a full server to start the "server" which he discusses can't be done in the server, because the client has to be started, but he wants to do it on the server, and then it needs to be able to do things in java script that he can't do in java. So basically he wants to have a headless browser with js evaluation that he can start via a cronjob to start his server.
And I'm so confused, why doesn't the server start the server and do the server things? why would a client be needed to start the server? Why can't the server start itself?
