I lost my career after refusing to keep quiet about the risks that a US spy-tech company poses to our NHS Stay up to date and be the first to hear about how to take action Sign up In 2025, I was forced out of my role as coordinator of the NHS Confederation’s BME Leadership Network. My crime? Refusing to use Palantir’s software, and refusing to keep quiet about the risks the US spy-tech firm poses to our health service. I wasn’t the only one raising alarms about handing our national health records to a surveillance firm. But when we spoke out we were dismissed, marginalised, and silenced. After more than twenty years working across the NHS, I’ve learned a chilling reality about public institutions – they rarely fail because of bad people. They fail because ordinary, well-meaning people follow bad instructions that systematically redefine what is acceptable. https://goodlawproject.org/forced-out-of-a-job-in-the-nhs-for-speaking-out-on-palantir/

I found out, from a neighbour, that an AI data centre is going up on the edge of my village. Not from the local authority, or anyone else whose job it was to tell me. I never had the chance to say what I thought about it before it was agreed. Since January 2026, ministers can grant specific data centre developments a fast track straight to central government, skipping the local council entirely, the same status given to roads, railways and power stations. Data centres were designated Crit... see more Petition text No AI data centre should get approved anywhere in the UK until everyone affected, the people who'll live alongside it and the people who'll build it, has been properly consulted, with their concerns actually answered, not just logged. We want the Secretary of State to remove data centres from the fast-track Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects regime, so they go back through the normal local planning process, which requires proper consultation as standard, rather than skipping it as they can now. https://organise.network/s/7f65df80ce77

Meta AI builds detailed profiles of children from years of family posts If you’re still OK with posting pictures of your kids on social media, take a minute to hear from mother of two Kalie Robins. At the start of September, she did something that hundreds of thousands of parents do every day. She posted a video of her young daughter on Facebook. Under the video of Robins and her daughter singing in a car, Facebook’s Meta AI system displayed a suggested question: “Who is the child passenger?” Robins was shocked that Facebook would ask this question about a minor, so curiosity prompted her to click it. That’s when a flood of automated stalker-type behavior began. In Instagram post, an enraged Robins described what happened: 'kinnell! https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/family-and-parenting/2026/09/meta-ai-builds-detailed-profiles-of-children-from-years-of-family-posts

Restaurants, pubs and theatres ban Meta’s ‘spy glasses’ over privacy fears Meta says safeguards are in place to prevent surreptitious filming, but some UK venues now prohibit them from being worn at all When Meta used superstar Kylie Jenner to promote its sleek new line of “spy glasses”, the social media company hoped the devices would reach the same broad acceptance that tablets and smartwatches have found before them. But those plans have hit a snag in the UK, where venues from elite restaurants to popular pub chains have banned the £359 glasses in order to preserve the privacy of customers and staff. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/aug/06/restaurants-pubs-and-theatres-ban-metas-spy-glasses-over-privacy-fears

Laura Nails it again, When Margaret Thatcher made England and Wales the only countries in the world with fully privatised water, the naysayers argued it was a terrible idea. Today, everyone agrees privatisation has been a roaring success. It has delivered an impressive rise in customer bills which has coincided with an equally impressive rise in shareholder profits. These improvements were delivered through efficiency savings, such as not building any reservoirs since 1992 and forgetting about silly ideas like sewage treatment. Thanks to neoliberalism, turds are now a common sight at our beaches and marine life is not. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has confirmed the UK is officially the world’s dampest desert. Three-quarters of the nation has been plunged into drought, despite the fact it constantly pisses down. You are therefore banned from gardening and bathing your children so that data centres don’t go without. https://open.substack.com/pub/normalislandnews/p/island-where-it-constantly-rains

Late Nite reading? Big Tech is hiding $1.65tn in off-balance-sheet AI debt Look at what Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle officially owe, and the numbers seem large but manageable. Look off the books, and a second, bigger pile of debt appears. A Nikkei study put that hidden figure at $1.65 trillion, up roughly eightfold in four years. It is more than the $1.35 trillion the five report outright. The Enron echo The money is tied up in off-balance-sheet vehicles, the same kind of structure Enron used to hide debt before it collapsed 25 years ago. Back then it was fraud. Now, tightened rules and fuller disclosures make it legal. The tools are still there, though. “Enron’s crime wasn’t having special purpose vehicles,” analyst Gil Luria told Bloomberg Law. “Enron’s crime was hiding them.” How it works The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now! The mechanics are simple. A company packages the debt for chips, servers, and power into a separate legal entity, often a joint venture, so the cost never flows through its own accounts. Take Meta’s Hyperion data centre in Louisiana. Meta and Blue Owl Capital both put equity into a separate structure that took on $27 billion in debt. Meta is the sole tenant, yet argues it does not have to record that debt, because it is not the one who must find replacement tenants. Oracle has $260 billion of future lease commitments that will eventually land on its books. Nvidia carries $119 billion in purchase obligations. Alphabet and Microsoft keep their vehicles off-book too. https://thenextweb.com/news/tech-giants-hidden-off-balance-sheet-debt-ai

Not sure IF I have posted this BUT this is a slap in the face to these brave men and women who come to our rescue on the coast or at sea. Coastguard Rescue Officers are frontline heroes. Day and night, they carry out search parties, rescue people trapped in mud, and provide emergency first aid. But in a shocking move, the Government plans to strip them of their pay for emergency callouts, just so they can be cheaply re-classed as unpaid "volunteers". It's a complete betrayal of the people we rely on in moments of danger. MPs are already speaking out and demanding the Maritime Minister backs down, but the issue is still flying under the radar. This is the kind of mean-spirited decision that will make the Government look really bad and - if we can force it into the open - they may start to backtrack. If thousands of us sign the petition demanding these brave men and women keep their wages, we can make the Government back down. A massive public outcry will show the Maritime Minister that we won't stand by while our coastal heroes are betrayed, hitting the mega-brakes on this nasty plan before it's too late. So, Will you sign the petition to stand with our coastguard rescue officers and demand they get paid for their life-saving work? FIFA’s Infantino scraps controversial World Cup private investment plan

Time for a new version of fifa its been corrupt for decades! Anyone that invents a crass "*piece" trophy for a demented leader & fellow conman to feather his own nest, now just like the last thief in charge of FIFA Sep Blatter who was banned in 2015 till 2027 for corruption!

  • pun intended! FIFA and its president, 'Conman' Gianni Infantino, faced fierce backlash across the football world over plans to sell a stake in World Cup.

World football’s governing body, FIFA, has said it will not proceed with its proposal to sell a piece of its business empire to outside investors after the project was met with fierce resistance from some of its member associations.

FIFA’s plan was to raise up to $4.2bn by selling about a 20 percent stake in a new unit that would run FIFA events including the ‌World Cup, valuing it at $20bn.

Why has Infantino scrapped FIFA’s World Cup investment plan? What to know

‘It’s all right for them’: private schools and golf courses stay green (again) despite England’s hosepipe bans As parks turn brown and paddling pools go unfilled, exemptions mean sports pitches can stay lush – even in school holidays After multiple punishing heatwaves, and no rain in parts for over a month, it seems the whole of the south of England is golden brown. But by Hammersmith Bridge in Barnes, south-west London, there is the unmistakable scent of damp soil. The playing fields of St Paul’s school, where fees are up to £57,000 a year, are a bright, lush green. The neatly trimmed grass, with water droplets clinging to each blade, looks like a mirage in the otherwise parched landscape. It has been a shock to appalled residents, who are under a hosepipe ban and have to let their own lawns die. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/jul/31/england-hosepipe-ban-drought-private-schools-golf-courses-green-grass

Cluck cluck! Its on the link President cowardly chicken $hit swapped planes to dodge a security threat without telling anyone else still flying on Air Force One. President Donald Trump is facing criticism for using the press and others aboard Air Force One as decoys last month when he faced a threat from Iran ― all while reportedly dodging that threat himself.  The Washington Post and The New York Times on Monday reported that last-minute travel changes on July 8, as the president left a NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, were far more extensive than the public had been led to believe.  Trump had arrived in Turkey on his new plane, a $400 million gift from Qatar. On departure, however, he sent that plane ahead to a U.S. military base in the United Kingdom. Trump, his staff and the media then boarded an older Air Force One plane.  But Trump was not on that older Air Force One plane when it took https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-plane-swap-scared_n_6a7a8e23e4b0b34a98228617/amp

Reform UK would lose 85% of funding under proposed donation cap, analysis shows, why just a very few BIG funders? Corruption? It's bad enough that few whole countries fund the red, blue & lemon Tory parties? Exclusive: Party would have raised £4.1m instead of £26.7m last year if £100k funding limit had been in place, Electoral Commission data suggests Reform UK would have held just 15% of the donations it received last year if a proposed £100,000 cap on political donations had been in force, according to analysis shared with the Guardian. The analysis by Friends of the Earth using Electoral Commission data highlights the party’s reliance on a handful of wealthy backers in advance of a showdown over political funding.

‘This was a righteous case. A holy war’: the lawyer who took on Meta and Google – and won but more important was Meta's aka Zuckerberg's total contempt of the court! This was a serious trial. For the first time, the most powerful names in social media were being held to account for the inherent design of their platforms, rather than the content hosted on them. They were accused of deliberately and maliciously building products that keep children hooked, with disastrous consequences for the mental wellbeing of young people. It was a landmark case – a big tobacco moment for big tech. But there were specific reasons why the prosecution was deeply disturbed to see Meta Ray-Bans in court. “We had fought hard for an anonymous jury. We didn’t want the names disclosed in a way where Google could go pull up their Gmails, where Meta could go pull up their Facebook accounts,” Lanier tells me in his warm Texas drawl. “Then Zuckerberg shows up with security guards wearing Meta glasses. They can easily do facial identification and figure out exactly who the jurors are.” This was not product placement, Lanier says – it was the deployment of the most relentless form of digital surveillance the world has ever known. Get it Lanier knew this was a case like no other – and that his opponents were prepared to use every power at their disposal to win it, including artificial intelligence. Google and Meta have their own AIs: Gemini and Meta AI, respectively. Lanier was determined to beat them at their own game. (A self-described “AI zealot”, his firm employs a team of five whose sole responsibility is to produce a weekly report for him on advances in AI over the previous seven days.) Lanier asked a company called BoodleBox to make him a bespoke AI incorporating a combination of Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT and other existing models. He used it in “30 different ways” for Kaley’s case, he says, but when he tells me about just one of them, my jaw drops. Read it all: Zuckerberg has no boundaries He'll screw you like he tried here! https://www.theguardian.com/media/2026/jul/12/mark-lanier-the-lawyer-who-took-on-meta-and-google-and-won-interview

A Democratic lawmaker and veteran called out President Donald Trump on Thursday, dubbing him and his team "an absolute clown car" as Americans' frustration over the Iran war mounts. Rep. Pat Ryan (D-NY) told MeidasTouch that as the Middle East conflict grows, it appears increasingly clear that Trump and his administration do not have a strategy for the war — and it's costing more lives as a result. shows his contempt of the dead servicemen he caused! Found left alone on substack. An Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."

They're too small to see with the naked eye, but microplastics are everywhere – and we are only beginning to understand the potential health risks. Quick question, where do you think scientists have found them? A Greenpeace study finds microplastics EVERY WHERE BUT disturbingly in Nestlé, Danone baby food sold in plastic pouches, raising alarm for millions of babies, and in so called safe 'microwaveable plastics' so we were right! imagine being told not to drink your tap water because it contained parasites. That’s exactly what happened to thousands of people in Devon last year after contaminated water left more than 140 customers seriously ill. And the water company boss’s punishment? A £270,000 bonus as part of a pay package worth over £1 million. That’s privatised water in England: soaring bills, falling water quality, and huge rewards for the people responsible. Now politicians like Andy Burnham are talking about bringing water back into public ownership. [4] But warm words won’t fix a broken system. That’s why more than 23,000 of us have already signed the petition demanding that whoever becomes the next Prime Minister puts people before profit and brings our water back into public ownership. I'm all right Jack Kid Starver warns Burnham he cannot spend less time on diplomacy! WTF? Since when has been ripping the party he stole with big money from all parts of the world been called diplomacy? Starmer has warned his likely successor, Andy Burnham, that it will not be possible to spend less time focusing on international affairs. Speaking during a toady BBC interview, he also spoke of his “intensely personal” decision to announce his resignation last month after two years as prime minister. As no one likes him and couldn't give a toss! Throughout his premiership, the Labour leader has faced accusations of spending too much time on the world stage instead of domestic affairs, with his opponents calling him “never here Keir”. Burnham has largely focused on domestic issues as he sets out his stall to be the next prime minister. But Starmer, Trained by Tory tony warned that the future prime minister would not be able to spend less time grappling with the turmoil around the world than he has. He told the BBC: “If you’re prime minister and you care what bills are going to be like in any household around the country, you have to care about finding a lasting solution to the situation in Ukraine, you have to care about what happens in the strait of Hormuz. No mention of Palestine stuff? “It’s not sensible to think you can just separate these two things out.” Oh! & he didn't mention donors once! https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/jul/03/starmer-warns-burnham-he-cannot-spend-less-time-on-diplomacy

A horrifying hit list reveals exactly who Rubio will destroy to become president We have a lot of metaphors for it; the camel’s nose under the tent, the foot in the door, where there’s smoke there’s fire, and the handwriting on the wall, among others. Every police state in history started this way. As the White House declared last week in a press release: “Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, far-left extremism will be treated with the same seriousness and ferocity the world has long reserved for jihadist terrorism.” First, they built the infrastructure based on what the public widely perceived as a real public safety and economic problem. https://www.rawstory.com/raw-investigates/rubio-trump/

Every police state in history started this way. As the White House declared last week in a press release:“Under the leadership of...

Excerpt from my recent repost from For more than a decade, I have wholeheartedly backed the man who helped build Canary from nothing but a belief that media should serve the many, not the few. I have watched him pour his energy and unshakeable principle into creating an independent voice — one that challenges power, holds elites to account, and amplifies those the mainstream ignores. So when Lloyds Bank suddenly terminated Canary’s business banking facility without a clear explanation, this wasn’t just some sort of bureaucratic inconvenience. It was a direct, calculated assault on press freedom, political dissent, and the very idea of a democratic public sphere. The Canary has never been neutral. From its founding, it has offered a socialist, anti-austerity, pro-justice perspective that is unapologetically critical of corporate greed, establishment politicians, and the unequal structures that define modern Britain.

OLD Epstein Kiddy Fiddler PALS? PARDON NO! Senate GOP unanimously abandons Trump after he opens door to Ghislaine Maxwell pardon Senate GOP unanimously abandons Trump after he opens door to Ghislaine Maxwell pardon Every Senate Republican went on record against a presidential pardon for convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, breaking with President Donald Trump, who has refused to rule one out. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) forced the vote Wednesday through a procedural move called unanimous consent, which passes automatically when no senator objects. No Republican objected, according to Axios. That meant Republicans agreed Maxwell "should not" receive "a pardon, commutation, or any other form of executive clemency" — the language of Rosen's resolution. Trump has given Democrats plenty of material to work with. Last July, while visiting his Turnberry resort in Scotland, he told reporters he was open to the question. "Well, I'm allowed to give her a pardon, but nobody's approached me with it, nobody's asked me about it. It's in the news about that—that aspect of it, but right now it would be inappropriate to talk about it," Trump told reporters, as Axios reported. Trump and Maxwell moved in the same elite social circles in the 1990s and early 2000s, CNN reported. When she was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2020, Trump's response drew immediate criticism. "I just wish her well, frankly," the president said at an earlier White House briefing. Rosen's resolution cited Trump's repeated refusals to close the door, noting that "President Donald Trump has publicly stated that he possesses the authority to grant a pardon to Ghislaine Maxwell in this matter and has declined to categorically rule out exercising such authority." "...granting a pardon, commutation, or any other form of executive clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell would be inconsistent with the interests of justice and accountability for crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children," the resolution said. "...the President should not grant a pardon, commutation, or any other form of executive clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell," the resolution added. Democrats argued the vote was necessary because Maxwell has been openly lobbying for clemency. "She is campaigning over and over again to get that pardon from President Trump, and this president has not ruled it out," Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) said earlier this year. The vote also drew attention to acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump's former personal attorney, whose handling of the Epstein files has drawn bipartisan criticism. Last year, Blanche personally interviewed Maxwell for nine hours across two days. She was transferred to a lower-security federal prison shortly afterwards! FF$!.

Knocked Hell Out Of Iran: Trump As Ali Khamenei's Funeral Begins, US Iran War, US Iran Deal, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei Iran chose July 4, the 250th anniversary of the creation of the US, to begin Khamenei's funeral US President Donald Trump said that he has "knocked the hell out of Iran" as Tehran began a six-day funeral for the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei - nearly four months after an airstrike killed him at the start of the US-Iran war. Trump, during a speech near Mount Rushmore, said the US gave Iran a "week off" for a funeral. "We beat Venezuela in one day, and we knocked the hell out of Iran; they're dying to settle. They want to settle so badly. We gave him a week off for a funeral because we're nice," he said https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/knocked-hell-out-of-iran-trump-as-ali-khameneis-funeral-begins-us-iran-war-us-iran-deal-ayatollah-ali-khamenei-mojtaba-khamenei-11725529

'Crime in Progress': Former Trump Official Aims to Expose Epstein 'Cover up' Miles Taylor of Defiance.org and survivors of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein outside of the “Epstein Bookmobile” on Wednesday, July 29, As the Senate Judiciary Committee prepares to vote on Acting Attorney Todd Blanche’s confirmation this week, Miles Taylor — who was chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security during President Donald Trump’s first term — unveiled the Epstein Bookmobile just blocks away from Capitol Hill. The bookmobile contains 3.5 million Epstein documents released by the Department of Justice, which have been printed into hardcover volumes. Taylor aims to have the exhibit displayed in every corner of the United States. The exhibit features a prominent photo of both Trump and Epstein together on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The Epstein Bookmobile is the result of a collaboration between Taylor’s organisation DEFIANCE.org, Reckoning Action and the Save America Movement. The three organisations are working in partnership with a team of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. https://www.rawamerica.com/p/crime-in-progress-former-trump-official

Another angry voice..... Reform halfwit Lee "30p" Anderson has been performatively eating bacon again, because he somehow thinks it will upset Muslims. Not so long ago a performer at the Tommy Ten Names march was actually wearing raw bacon in a pathetic attempt to try and rile Muslims too. Sure, the Qur'an prohibits Muslims from eating pork products, just like the Torah prohibits Jews from the same, but the overwhelming majority of Muslims and Jews don't actually care what anyone else eats. They just don't eat it themselves. It's like saying you don't like eating sand, then some pathetic dunce thinking you'll be triggered if they guzzle a load of it in front of you. It'd be funny if someone told these extreme-right divs that Muslims aren't allowed to eat dogshit either. It'd only be a matter of time before they're performatively eating and wearing it. https://substack.com/@anotherangryvoice/note/c-287929900

Managers told council staff to delay access to SEND support and laughed about it, whistleblower says, the bastards! Political Correspondent Romilly Weeks spoke to an anonymous whistleblower who works in a Local Authority dealing with families trying to access support for SEND kids This is we believe in Essex east of London! I wonder if any local MPs would kick up a stink the Tory leader Kemi Badenoch of Chelmsford to Saffron Waldron & our jolly old £5 million man Nige Fromage in Clacton also Essex Senior council managers encouraged colleagues to make it difficult for families to access special needs support and laughed about denying help to children with SEND, a council caseworker has told ITV News. The whistleblower, whose identity we are protecting, works as a special educational needs case worker at a council. She revealed superiors would “joke about the ways they can deny support to children and how they want to deny more children access.” She described how she and other case workers were encouraged to make it harder for families to make their case. This included leaving telephone numbers off emails, not replying fully to queries, and not having face-to-face meetings. She said: “There is a real push for us not to see these parents in person, not to have those meetings, not to make the phone calls generally, not to ask for their opinion and to be quite cold and hardline on it." “They don’t like you to have that relationship with the parent, really, because they don’t want parents to have information”, she added. The whistleblower said staff were advised not to leave a paper trail when contacting families, or follow up with a call or email. Instead, she said: “They like to communicate verbally via Teams meetings and then without any follow-up correspondence. "That way, unless someone is taking a transcript of that meeting, there is no evidence to back it up or to prove anyone said that." With many disputed cases ending up at a tribunal, the whistleblower believes this advice was given by her managers because it could be used as evidence to help families win their cases. When parents asked questions over emails, she said they would "completely ignore the first question" and answer the second one. The case worker also said colleagues would "use back channels like Teams, chats, maybe messages to people... in a way that they believe won't come out in a subject access request.” In her view, the tactics are part of a deliberate attempt by the council to save money on special educational needs provision and one that she says leaves families tired and broken. She said: "Everything comes down to money, and it shouldn't. It should be about the children and the families." The number of children needing additional support in education is rising sharply. More than one in five pupils in England now have special educational needs, according to figures published last month by the Department for Education. The demand for the higher level of support provided by an Education, Care and Health Plan (EHCP) is showing the biggest increase, rising by 11.6% this year compared to 2025. The Snakey bastards! With many disputed cases ending up at a tribunal, the whistleblower believes this advice was given by her managers because it could be used as evidence to help families win their cases. When parents asked questions over emails, she said they would "completely ignore the first question" and answer the second one.
