But it rests on the assumption that actually LLMs *are* the solution to every problem ever and will inevitably end up taking over everything.

Kept the flames going for hours despite some calmer heads pointing out that I was posting everything from Netscape for Linux.

First of all, there are only three things I pay more than $200/mth for and those are the mortgage, the groceries and the electricity.
Second, I wouldn't pay $20/mth for how often I use an AI, let alone $200.
A query to (work-provided) CoPilot saved me 5 minutes yesterday when it told me which of approximately eleventy billion 3GPP technical standards documents pertained to a thing I needed to check. I don't think that was worth $20 though. I would've figured it out myself if I just looked.

@briankrebs@infosec.exchange Personally I think it has long been overshadowed by the fear of downloading an update that takes away features you use all the time, totally rearranges the UI because reasons, and introduces both ads and an AI chatbot that serves no purpose but keeps popping up right under where you were about to click some other thing leaving you with the choice of immediately manually dismissing it for the 5,000,000th time or asking it do the thing you were going to do, which it will fail at, and *then* you dismiss it for the 5,000,000th time.
Or is that just me?

I only ask because they look very similar but have totally different circuitry designed by a different company after the brand was sold to a Korean conglomerate in 1972. Some of the originals were still for sale as new-old stock up till about 1975 if you knew where to look but the love heart tower is a dead giveaway if yours has it.
