I recovered from a medical thingy recently, and when I returned to work and told my co-workers what was up, they totally looked out for me and made sure I didn’t overdo it…

I love me some #AltText, and I use #CamelCase for file names on my home computer, but I'm curious what it's good for here in the #Fediverse?
I might guess it's for making #HashTags more intelligible?

@stewf Public transit should be free, otherwise it's like regressive taxation; putting extra burden on those who can least afford it!

three-factor (multi factor) authentication was taught to me as
1 something you know (password)
2 something you have (fob or authenticator object)
3 something you ARE (fingerprint, Iris scan, heartbeat signature)
#3 can't be changed so of course it's the most dangerous to just hand over

I'd hate to be at a party and that jackass walks in... but if it saves 9.4 million lives, I guess I'd take one for the team. Maybe I could spill a drink on him or something.

@Danpiker@mathstodon.xyz I would not call it “more purple” but certainly more saturated.

My first inclination was to start with author's lastname but in case of multiple authors that's vague.
Bearing that in mind, I'll say go with book title first, but omit THE.

Why This Happens:
"HFS+ was designed in 1998 and uses 32-bit block addressing internally.
On very large volumes, the extended attributes B-tree node placement calculations produce an invalid node at a specific location — node #61432 on 24TB volumes — that fsck cannot read. This is a fundamental arithmetic limitation of HFS+ with modern large drives, not a hardware or cable issue."

Platform interoperability is an excellent goal. #BabySteps
I'll be grateful to anyone trying to bridge posts who recognizes that the other platforms might not show a full preview and so they make a highly descriptive comment so that their post doesn't look like pure #clickbait with just a teaser and a raw link.
BluSky > Fediverse bridges typically don't show the preview at all on my end.
While I have your attention for just a moment…

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social I've uploaded over 2000 media things to archive-org - mostly live concert audio, but also some video and a little etcetera.
I also blogged about my method for combining audience microphone recordings with direct soundboard feeds (or any two recordings with mismatched clocks, really) and it's been helpful to other "tapers" who like to get good results the same way I do.
It was written for an old version of audacity but the idea still holds ... https://morst.blogspot.com/2010/03/this-is-follow-up-of-sorts-to-my-post.html
