TIL about The Great Toronto Circus Riot™️ of 1855, whereby American clowns beat Canadian firefighters to a pulp at a local brothel, in retaliation their circus was ransacked/razed to the ground by a literal torch-wielding mob, aided and abetted in no small part by the local Orange Order, and then subsequently the entire police force of Toronto was sacked for collusion and corruption. I love history. :)

Weirdly, this combination actually works pretty well. Yes, I am typing this in genuine surprise. Me: 😲 You don't really get the texture of the chips (and when you do they're soft rather than crunchy, which feels a bit ick, tbh), but you do get the occasional kick of the salt, and it combines with the sweetness of the bikkie and the choc. Kind of in the way salted caramel works? I liked this way more than I thought I would. Solid 7/10, would eat again.

The past seven days were an absolute wonkbot of a week, three of which became full-on duvet days, and two of those involved pretty much nothing but sleep. What a pesky nuisance of a thing brains are when they decide to throw a bit of a snit. On the plus side, got some books read and saved power, so yanno, swings, roundabouts, yada yada. :)

Am listening to the first Bookshop Detectives book (Dead Girl Gone), and whoever was responsible for casting decided to go with an Ocker and a Pom as the narrators, which was certainly...a choice...for a book set in Havelock North.

So, not only are Maori and Polynesian words being butchered on the regular, so are some of the English ones. And they're not even consistently wrong! Whanau (correctly-ish) one minute, wha-noo the next. I had to literally pause to work out that the narrator meant 'Petone' as she pronounced it peeee-*rhymes with phone*. 🙃

The Zild accents aren't the worst I've ever heard - that's not saying much tho, is it? 😒 - but they're still bloody grating. Just...ack! 😩
