Basically, what I'm saying is you're all mages and the first rule to being a mage is to be ultimately responsible for the spells you cast lest you bring harm to others 
just in case anybody wonders why I cwboost post with the tag "on a white background", it's because long covid can give you light sensitivity that feels like migraine light sensitivity feels (i.e. painful), and far too many of the people who see my posts have long covid 
for reference, even with my phone screen set to the darkest it can get to, coming across something on my feed with a white background is literally painful for me 
I'm just glad Moshidon has a backrooms colour setting so black that makes pixels indistinguishable from having the screen off~
Another that I learned only in the last 6 or 7 years was "boy"... at first, just a childish word someone might use on someone else to discredit or infantilise them, but a white man saying it to a black man? It's one of those "just use the slur you basically used instead of this bullshit" situations with all of the baggage of centuries of racism and slavery along for the ride basically, compassion and understanding is but one strategy in a toolbox with each tool being necessary for different situations (even the same person will respond differently to each tool in different situations and at different points in their life)
also, compassion, understanding, and education, even towards someone who will grow from it, takes emotional and physical energy, and we needn't force everyone to use it all the time :axolotl_wave: (though, as always, if you don't have the patience or energy (which is ok), get out of the way of those who do)

one tool used to mitigate some of the effects is compression leggings (from my ankles to the bottom of my ribcage), which were $30~40 for a decent pair...
which now doesn't compress my butt and torso very well because I've lost so much of my musculature over the last year of being bedridden 
I've been contemplating having to get a new pair that fits a bit better, but I'm also unsure how long that would last
