OH. right! i get it now! i get why AI is so depressing to me. because covid already shrunk my world to almost nothing, where almost all of my life revolves around socializing and watching videos on the internet (which is being ruined by AI) and creating creative works through coding (which is being ruined by AI), often using open source tools and libraries (which are being ruined by AI) i already had so little and now even that is being rotted away before my eyes

I'd be a lot less pissed off on a daily basis if you all were going "we've been using AI to do code reviews and it really catches a lot of obvious mistakes so long as you ignore all the times it's wrong and we've been able to speed up our code review enormously with this" Because at least you would just be ignoring the moral, ethical, and socioeconomic considerations of using AI without also simultaneously being a fucking dumbass about it

it's amazing how people with AI brain rot will boast proudly about how they don't review the code their "agents" write at all anymore like, even if you're of the belief AI can be used to write code, you *must* admit they're not 100% accurate and will get confused about simple things like numbers and bits and so sneak in incredibly hard to find bugs what are you doing about that long term? nothing? just living with a rat's nest of bugs? absolute absurd position to take
