I got "mild" covid just over 6 years ago
it never got better, only worse
I've been ill 24/7 for 6 years
I've been housebound and alone 24/7 for 6 years
and it breaks my heart that so many people still do nothing to protect themselves and others from the risk of (long) covid, and are unwilling to support those of us already affected
because they can't imagine it will happen to them, can't imagine being disabled/chronically ill themselves
when you're healthy it's hard to imagine you too could be affected by chronic illness and disability
but the reality is that all of us are vulnerable, none of us are safe just because we don't deserve it happening to us, and all of us have a responsibility to keep each other safe
those that insist it "won't happen to them" and that they don't have any responsibility to prevent it happening to anyone else either are victim-blaming
