#LLM models ignored all the decades of open source licensing, they just did massive license break because they know #FOSS initiatives don’t have the pockets to sue them.

Industrial scale GPL, AGPL, and CC breaks all over the place and there is nothing you can do because they have more money than you and will survive any attempt to sue.

It is a big middle finger to all FOSS #developers

And had a snort here :3

My iPhone updated to the latest version during the evening. With it came age verification. Apple does this by having Apple Wallet verify you. That failed. Then it tried to manually verify you via your credit card. All my cards were not accepted as proof. I tried four debit cards and one credit card. Now I am locked out of many features. I am 45 years old. Fuck this shit.

my #gotosocial admin settings page is dispaying blank. I can see a react error 301 (which seems to be too much recursion or reentry) in the console. This is a fresh install with #yunohost

Anyone experiencing this? Plz boost

@gotosocial@gts.superseriousbusiness.org maybe help?

Poncho Wonky can now remote drive SSB servers. You can import an identity and then set a remote for it. Instead of running it locally by starting a background process when you run it, it will instead just start the client process and connect to it. That brings Poncho Wonky to parity with Patchfox in terms of identity management. It only took like five years :3 #SecureScuttlebutt #Decentralization

@aral I remember doing something similar with Palm Pre 2 and HP Pre 3 running webOS. The Android runner worked half the time. I am not sure we'll ever trully be able to run that stuff outside iOS or Android unless some legislation is put in place to foster it.

@retrofan64 be aware that UK law doesn't require device or operating system age verification. Only social networks need to do it. That was a proactive move by apple.

@elena@aseachange.com hey! you inspired me to start using Yunohost here. Thanks a ton.

Quick question, what frontend you're using for the GoToSocial instance at:

@elena@aseachange.com

From the docs, I thought it come without one and yours is looking great. Thanks for any tip.

@tty I think there is a bit of nostalgia at play there, but also I know that with RSS and SSB there’s no algorithm trying to get a rise out of me to make me engage and that I usually follow only what I am interested in. SSB feels like a pub or coffee shop where I go to talk with my friends.

@tty I feel ya. I too need these reset pathways, for me they are literal paths, there are a couple walks in town that do it for me. Sitting with a book or audiobook for a while also helps. My digital space feels better when I use RSS, SSB, and other real social tech instead of just grunt working and social networks.

@aral I saw here today that the company doesn't seem to be a good FOSS player and been toxic to their contributors. Before today, I was totally unaware of them. I don't think I could run a Linux phone as a primary device cause I need government and banking apps that are only available to iOS or Android.

@hypostase oh thanks for letting me know. I use Thunderbird, so my mail filtering is all over the place anyway as I train it. I checked some of the banking apps against a list they have on the /e/OS website and one of my banks doesn't seem to be working. I'm also afraid some of the governemnt apps I need might not work. Maybe I need to be gradual with my migration and start with Android and maybe later get a second device to try /e/OS and see how well it works.

@dmian @mojo @Coffee you might find this interesting: https://newslite.tv/brics-advances-with-its-own-pix-and-now-offers-an-application-for-payments/ Basically, Brasil is part of BRICS with other countries and now PIX is being used internationally, so even our model now extends and is useful beyond Brasil with other countries banking systems being able to implement it. It can be done.
