@Tijn@dosgame.club I keep wondering if Mint (Ubuntu edition) is a good idea for non-Linux-dork ppl I help/admin and also our HTPC. So far I was happy to see no snapd in Mint. But there's probably only so much they can deviate from the big U. @phoronix@masto.ai

@soapdog I am in the midst of trying out both GrapheneOS and LineageOS on older Android phones with the purpose of using one of them full-time. It's going well. Had to give up less than I feared, but tap-to-pay is likely one thing that will never work without Goog's official shitware.

@kicad Yay, I love #AppImage I release all of my software this way and then make distro-specific packages from that. It's not wrong to use AppImage as the upstream-binary form while still providing deb, AUR, rpm, whatever.

@rl_dane I don't make aliases of this kind (typo crutch) because I feel they reinforce poor behavior when I'd rather push myself to learn to type the right things. Aliases for long and complicated shit are great though! I have many many of those.

@soapdog No, I wasn't aware of that or anything other than Google's stuff yet. Awesome that there are alternatives in this space, thanks!

Figured out my problem with group SMS/MMS text messages on #GrapheneOS. I cleared both the app's Cache and Storage and it started working. Silly fix but I'll take it.

Still not working with the Graphene Messaging app but will keep poking at it.

Hardware: Google Pixel 7 Pro
OS: GrapheneOS build 2026040801 (Android 16)
Text messaging app: stock Google Messages
