I fully expected this >400g, 11:30h ABS print to fail given the size. It came out perfect. nice.
If these prints keep working I might be able to get the new AC ducts in place before the next heat wave.

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social Neat. Though I'd quite frankly prefer them simply becoming major contributor and sponsor of the Heroic Launcher.
Perhaps with an optional "GOG Galaxy Theme" for the launcher so they could still do brand deals and such. Perhaps installable as an Addon through Flathub, that way they could even point to something in the store.
However as long as GOG Galaxy ends up being Open-Source I'll also take that.

@lostgen@det.social I've also heard of ivpn (superficially though, not sure how secure they are) as well as njalla. The latter should be highly trustworthy given it's a service from Peter Sunde ("the Piratebay guy") who appears to be openly left and most certainly knows his way around both server security and making businesses police raid-proof.

So, uh… I opened #Shelly on #CachyOS to install another browser and the first three recommendations are *all* AI tools.
Not sure how to feel about this. No clue how it's determined with Shelly anyway, but given it's probably based on some statistic (it keeps being like this after restarting Shelly or reloading the repo) it still rubs me the wrong way.

All my homies hate the HDMI forum.
Also the DP->HDMI adapter I got for 4k120+HDR is either borked or there's some underlying issues with such specs on my system… though since I never had issues like that before with AMD+Gnome I assume it's the adapter. (had a picture for a while before I got colourful snow - in HDR though!)
Guess I better just wait for AMD to fix the shit the HDMI forum created. My card *does* support HDMI 2.1 … :|

Aside from it, the Windows Spyware gives you no choice by design. It just gets installed unless you go *very* deep into the Windows configuration, and given MS is also corposcum you can never be sure your choice won't be reset.

@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org @LariscusObscurus@wien.rocks Heh, classic… yeah, especially now that Linux finally gets some numbers Wacom has all the incentives to uphold any influence they have built. The managers would call it "ensuring return of investment".
Depending on the amount of influence it might even be easier to convince all the other parties who interface with libwacom that, from now on, they have to also add a new "libgraphpen" or something similar; moving everything except wacom devices to a new library.

Uuhm… do modern OLED HDR TVs have any known issue regarding sudden bright scenes and power?
My brand new LG TV literally turned off twice on me in a specific scene where the screen basically shows a flashbang (HDR enabled) straight from a dark scene. Once it stayed off, the second time the red standby LED turned on and off a few times before the TV turned on again.
Please tell me this isn't a guarantee issue but something I can fix, I already got rid of all the packaging… 😔

@Distante@mastodon.social If they do even a little bit of market analysis they'll realise making the Linux version proprietary would be a major mistake. Not to mention any major software store GUI (at least that I know of) highlights if something is proprietary as a warning, so even if the initial bad press goes away the warning won't.

@themagicsquid@mastodon.social @moira@mastodon.murkworks.net It most likely will do nasty shit if you let it into the wifi (or just become part of a botnet, lol).
The advertising route mostly goes through the "voluntary" device registration instead (usually faciliated by those stickers that tell you you'd get free parts for X years by just "registering your product").

(mentioning lots of minorities) "It‘s just impossible to summon the amount of active participation you demand for each of them."
And
"Yet I simply can‘t be an „activist“ for each group that would deserve it. I don‘t have the energy for that."
So I understand Zappes' criticism more like a "I have limited energy and *don't want others to tell me where to put some extra*". Which is reasonable.

@iakobsdesamos@xarxa.cloud Another printer I've heard a lot of good things about is Snapmaker's U1 (good value for efficient multi-colour). Them opening up (compared to their "Artisan" printer, which was absolutely proprietary) and utilizing Klipper instead (which you can freely flash) gave them a lot of positive coverage. Not to mention 900-1000€ for a proper multihead printer is damn cheap.

It's not even true, the value proposition of a Core One+ beats Bambu every day once you consider long-term usage (which such a machine *should* be made for. Hell, every machine / device should be). Some people seemingly are really unlucky when trying to think.

If the dot is too big or the screen too close to your face your eyes may get enough information and make the dot blue, but once you change size/distance the dot turns purple as your eyes lose the necessary info to offset it.

@TechTangents@dialup.space It probably also has to do with bandwidth limitations. There was a complete technology switch for disk drives since then; A 30TB HDD is only so useful since it takes so long to access all of it.

@cmconseils@mastodon.social I think it's because our brains are just "skipping" tiny details in language we don't know and is more willing to invent something wrong because we already know our own intent behind it. Like details in dreams that make little sense after waking up, but total sense while dreaming.
Once talking we realise the tiny word in-between which we just "knew" actually isn't that clear in our minds after all, it just appeared to be like that.

Sorry für die Menge an Kritik, aber sich das Niveau durch AI willentlich so runter ziehen zu lassen ist echt das Letzte.

@naor_nl@mastodon.social I know these patterns, but for me it happened when printing with 0.08mm layer height. I always assumed it to be some combination of speed and nozzle temperature (because it looks like the nozzle drags a tiny bit of material from the lower layer into the direction it moves before it immediately hardens again), unfortunately never looked into it further.
If you already calibrated the multiplier and there aren't artifacts on the slope (doesn't look like it) I suspect speed and temps. :)
