Let me introduce myself: I’m Naor, a Dutch guy with a masters degree in experimental physics. I’m passionate about tackling the climate crisis, which is how I’ve ended up in the world of energy transition policy. I have never really been into social media, mostly because of the companies that run the platforms. But after reading @pluralistic@mamot.fr’s book Enshittification I figured I’d give Mastodon a try. Will be posting in both Dutch and English, depending on the topic. #introduction

Anyone interested in helping me troubleshoot an issue with my 3D printer? When printing on my prusa core one with one of the default speed profiles, I’m getting this weird, inconsistent extrusion pattern.

I don’t think it’s one of the following:

  • too high print speed (130mm/s)
  • wrong extrusion multiplier (previously calibrated)
  • nozzle clog

Any ideas? #3dprinting #troubleshooting

@Natanox@chaos.social I think you are on three right track. I’m currently reprinting the part using exactly the same settings but at lower speeds and the pattern seems to have gone away. It still puzzles me though. I calibrated max flow rate with the same layer height and nozzle temperatures, so I wouldn’t expect printing at “fast but not maximally fast” speeds to give these issues.
