Dark jokes aside: Houses are just not built with them in mind... and just slapping an aircon onto the outside and calling it a day will simply not work. There is also a lot of issues in regard to many older buildings having somewhat lackluster isolation... and really old buildings simply not being allowed to add aircons due to "Denkmalschutz."
