@andypiper check out E.S.E. pads. No mess with coffee powder, the various machines produce great coffee, pads are bio degradeable and it is an open standard therefore you can get them from many independent roasters.

I just saw an account posting a link and adding alt text to the post that described the link image. Then I had the idea: Images on websites have alt tags, therefore it should be possible to take the alt tag from the preview image and display it on mastodon automatically. Or not?

Da hilft nur noch weiter dran arbeiten dass US Big Tech in Europa so oder so weniger genutzt wird. Und zwar über das Trump-Regime hinaus.

I don't know how this could be changed. I also don't do it, but therefore I don't feel I have the right to oppose ads, even if I also don't like them.

@samsteiner not selfenployed, but related: unfortunately I don't know many, but there are also SMEs in the fediverse like @buersten or @_bestattung that are quite successfull here. Sometime I would like to compile a list of SME or other mainly professional accounts in the fediverse.
@renata@cosocial.ca Thinking about it, the last platform that was a place to be connected to friends for me was the early facebook. Twitter, Instagram and now the Fediverse were always more information, public discussion and entertainment platforms. @evan@cosocial.ca

@phoefer Ein Anreiz können auch User sein, die dem Unternehmen mitteilen, dass sie das uncool finden. Hab ich bei DeepL auch gemacht. Einer oder zwei verändern sicher nichts, aber wenn es genug sind, werden auch die Entscheider*innen anfangen sich Gedanken zu machen.

In my experiences with working with humans, reading, understanding and reviewing someone elses code doesn't take much less time than writing it yourself. Am I just bad at reading code? Or do you go on without understanding it completely, when it works?
