@nixCraft@mastodon.social Tbh. if one only wants a cheap phone you get plenty of old flagships for under 100 bucks used. Update it with a custom rom to the latest Android and you can basically run everything you want (besides AAA games of course) The Commodore phone does not seem to target the segment of cheap phones, they target the segment of "well-off people who want to go on a digital sabbatical but don't have the will power so they need to buy a gadget which can offer this" or alternatively "enough money to just randomly buy cool gadgets" (I used to be in the last category when I still made decent money, this definitely appeals to me especially as I already run a phone with Sailfish OS and love flip phones)

As far as I can tell they tend to spend their time in more promising areas of AI and those get new releases all the time. (E.g. some of the latest Nvidia papers on robotics controls. I suggest the "Two Minute Papers" channel for a quick overview of what's happening in the space in general)

@dpnash@c.im @mhoye@cosocial.ca That's not really a bug. Their AI inference is just expensive af. Anthropic has been slowly adjusting their systems to forwad the real costs to users because they are loosing way too much money and nobody wants to invest any serious amounts into them anymore.

@thisismissem@hachyderm.io I took a quick look at it and there are two things I'm wondering about: Can this already integrate with Mastodon's FASP? If not, is that planed?How are identities of moderated actors/instances as well as the moderating instances protected? As far as I can tell all of that information seems to be provided in clear text which imo would result in retaliation actions being taken against the people putting an instance on the list. Something like this has happened in the Minecraft community on global banlist projects and seems to be (in a lesser form) an issue with Bluesky's public blocklists as well. (And in the email-space Spamhaus gets attacked a lot as well)

@alvaromontoro Yeah, coloring the words would be interesting, although that might give too much away. Should probably only show the word colors from the bottom on hover or when clicking them/"Show answers". Would probably also interesting to have a hint of word + color + right side up blurred solution although I'm unsure how to do the interaction with that.

Wie ich schon sagte geht es um die Handlung, wie man für sein Kind sorgt. Dass man keine Kinder haben sollte hab ich nirgendwo gesagt und sowas zu unterstellen ist absurd. Und es waren Beispiele, die sind logischerweise nicht vollständig und auch nicht in allen Situationen anwendbar. Und wenn sie nicht passen, man keine andere Lösung selber findet, dann sollte man sich dringend Hilfe holen. Im absoluten Ernstfall wenn schon Symptome von Hitzeschäden auftreten, die man selber nicht weg bekommt heißt das den Notarzt rufen.

@cube_drone@mastodon.social Technically you can stop it (as the EU's Digital Services Act requires large social media platforms to have a toggle to turn off algorithmic feeds), however TikTok hides that multiple layers deep in their settings to not hurt their profits. (While in the process violating EU laws)

Lösungen dafür gibt es genug, sei es Keller, Auto, oder klimatisierte Züge oder Gebäude wie Läden, Museen oder öffentliche Einrichtungen. Wer nicht auf die Gesundheit seine Kinder in so einer Ausnahmesituation achtet und diese priorisiert handelt mMn. extrem unverantwortlich.

@alvaromontoro It looks like this might be an issue with the Dark Reader extension. At least it printed a warning in console that the size was forced before the style was loaded and disabling dark mode for your page makes the issue not trigger anymore.

(At least based on the speed they came in from some accounts, I think some might be semi-manual too) I bet the people behind it even feel soo smart about doing it while they accomplished literally nothing beyond wasting everyones time and tons of resources :blobcatfacepalm:
