Is there a word for when the topics on two episodes of two completely different podcasts align? Was listening to the end of one show put out last week about the US suffrage movement and then later in the day another show published in 2020 that touched on the same topic. This had happened at least twice just this week.

@adhdeanasl This is an issue that comes up in mediation training. What do you do when one of the parties is engaged in clearly discriminatory or abusive behavior? Some mediators interpret their ethical obligations as staying neutral and not intervening. I encourage my mentees that impartiality does not require neutrality in the face of oppressive or abusive behaviors. We have a social obligation to protect those who are marginalized or vulnerable.
#Boston doesn't expect federal monitors to be disruptive but maybe they should think again given what's going on in WY.

@bitinn I own my consulting firm and we have a strict no GenAI / LLM policy. I have a staff of 2 who are both artists and were more then supportive; they helped write the policy.
Because we do research and some of that research involves modeling, there's some machine learning that we do. But no generative AI. No LLM.

I would like to believe that somebody in risk management has raised this flag, at least for the California medical facilities, but so many of those people are also captured by the AI hype that they've lost all of their critical faculties.

Android companies pulled out of covering ships going through the strait because of all the instability. The insurance companies then restarted insurance, but only if it was paid in Chinese yuan. And so ships that were insured using Chinese yuan were able to go through the strait.

And also completely understand that you might want to let the official processes work their way through in the hopes that the decision is reversed. Sometimes they actually do work.

@adhdeanasl@beige.party Just to follow up, the legal scholar in me also realizes that this might be retaliation for supporting a student's gender identity, which would be a Title IX violation, at least under current case law. I'm not sure what state you live in, but if it is a state that generally doesn't oppose trans rights, this is also something to bring up with the agency and the superintendent.

I have so many thoughts about the passing of Dolly Parton. I'll share two.
1. If there was every going to be a second coming of Christ, it would have been Dolly Parton. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
2. She was one of the richest people in the country and yet a childhood in poverty could not extend her life past 80, the average age at death for White women in the USA. How much longer would we have had her of we had taken poverty more seriously a century ago?
For folks in the Boston area, my friend is having a book talk at BPL. It's part memoir, part sociological examination (she is a sociologist) of the experience of Black women in the running world.
